Escape to La Paz: The Park You Can’t Miss in San Narciso
Sometimes, there are ordinary places we want to visit. We are not after nature trips, restaurant hopping, or going to a high-end spot. Sometimes, all we needed was to walk around a public park, enjoying the good weather while seeing other people moving around.
That is what we wanted yesterday. We planned on going to a park near the beach at Barangay La Paz in San Narciso, Zambales. It's time to go out for a bit and see a different scene once in a while. We drove to the park, and the blue-themed park welcomed us.
There are only a few people around the park since it is quite a hot day due to the summer season. The park is located near the beach so that we could feel the breeze. It is also the reason why the theme of the park is blue, highlighting the rich and prosperous blessings coming from the sea.
When we went to the park, we looked for a spot where we could sit down for a while. There are actually a lot of tables with seats around the park, which proves that they are open for public use.
I started walking and checking out what was new to the place. I have seen that it has not changed much in the last few years. There are more tables today than before, and there are different wall designs, too.
One thing that captured my eye was the waiting shed on the side of the main street. It is a place for people to wait for transportation or for the rain to stop.
Another eye-catching spot in the park is the mini stage with painted wall designs. The painting showcases that La Paz is the home of the maritime and the town's rich culture on beaches. It was great to see how they acknowledge the resources they get from the ocean.
San Narciso is the home of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), a premier maritime institution in the country. The wall painting highlights naval forces and ships.
After roaming around the park, we sat down on one of the tables and took some rest. After a few minutes, we went to the beach, and that's for another blog to share. Here's my best partner in life, who's too supportive whenever I say I want to go somewhere. Thanks to him for driving me to places I always want to visit.
Of course, I'll never forget to take pictures of myself, too. See below collaged photos of me!
