Hey Hive ! :)
Deutsch: in den letzten Wochen war ich so damit beschäftigt zu nähen und habe auch einige tolle Teile hinbekommen ! :)
ich habe deswegen auch sehr viel Gedankenkraft genutzt um mir Klamottenteile bildlich vorzustellen und wie ich sie konstruieren, also die Idee in Materie schaffen soll. Dahingehend hatte ich kaum Zeit und Lust mich hier zu melden, da all mein Fokus im Nähen war.
Seit etwa 2 Wochen häng ich an einem Projekt und muss gerade auch einfach eine Pause einlegen, damit ich dann wieder mit Kraft es abschließen kann. Denn es war mehr Arbeit, als ich es mir vorgestellt habe. Doch ein 2. Mal werde ich es sicherlich machen, denn nun weiß ich auch, wie ich vorzugehen habe.

welches für mich eine Mischung aus Feenoutfit, ein bisschen wie der Rock, der bei dem Stil Flamenco getragen wird, und auch ein wenig Western.

I have been so busy sewing over the last few weeks and have managed to make some great pieces! :)
I have been using a lot of my brain power to visualize clothes and how to construct them, i.e. how to create the idea in material. I hardly had the time or inclination to post here because all my focus was on sewing.
I've been working on a project for about 2 weeks now and just need to take a break so that I can finish it again with strength. Because it was more work than I had imagined. But I will certainly do it a second time, because now I know how to proceed.

which for me is a mixture of a fairy outfit, a bit like the skirt worn in the flamenco style, and also a bit western.
Ein Rüschen Rock.
Um Rüschen zu machen, benötige ich für 3 Schichten ganz viel Stoff ! Also die Rüschen machen, hat am meisten Zeit und Geduld gekostet. Während ich jedes einzelne Rüschen Stoff auch so vernähen musste, dass die Kanten glatt sind und nicht irgendwann sich in der Waschmaschine auflösen werden.
A ruffled skirt.
To make ruffles, I need a lot of fabric for 3 layers! So making the ruffles took the most time and patience. While I also had to sew every single ruffle fabric so that the edges are smooth and won't eventually unravel in the washing machine.
Wie man am unteren Bild leicht erkennen kann, soll der Rock hinten länger sein als vorne. Vorne ist eine Öffnung, die ich allerdings noch verschließen muss mit Reißverschluss und einem Knöpfchen.
As you can easily see from the picture below, the skirt should be longer at the back than at the front. There is an opening at the front, but I still have to close it with a zipper and a button.
An sich bin ich ultra glücklich mit dem Teil, weil ich auch 2 Wochen daran hing und mir auch der Stoff dazu sehr gefällt.
Jedoch bin ich mir noch nicht sicher, ob ich den hinteren Rockteil noch ein wenig kürzer machen soll. Dies kann man allerdings nur beim Tragen beurteilen. Ich werds wohl endlich die nächsten Tage fertigstellen :)
Und dazu natürlich ein passendes Oberteil, welches auch noch 2 Details vor sich hat um es dann fertig nennen zu dürfen:

However, I'm still not sure whether I should make the back of the skirt a little shorter. However, you can only judge this when you wear it. I'll probably finally finish it in the next few days :)
And of course a matching top, which still has 2 details to go before I can call it finished:
Mit diesem Oberteil fing auch die Rüschen Arbeit an. Dabei habe ich erst beim Rock darauf geachtet, dass die Rüschen ja auch vom selben Stoff sind und die gleiche Breite aufweisen..
The ruffle work also began with this top. I first made sure that the ruffles were made from the same fabric and were the same width as the skirt.
Deshalb ist auf der linken Armseite das Rüschen länger als auf der rechten Seite und das wird natürlich noch korrigiert.
Wenn man das Top trägt, hängen die Ärmel auf den Armen und stehen nicht auf der Schulter, so wie auf dem Bild zu sehen.
This is why the ruffle is longer on the left arm side than on the right side and this will of course be corrected.
When you wear the top, the sleeves hang on your arms and do not stand on your shoulder, as you can see in the picture.
So sehen meine fertiggstellten recht einfachen Vorprojekte aus:
eine Art Tunika, die man sich über ein Outfit schmeißen kann.
This is what my finished, fairly simple preliminary projects look like:
a kind of tunic that can be thrown over an outfit.
Dabei habe ich einen viereckigen Stoff gehabt, etwa in der Mitte ein Loch geschnitten, wo mein Kopf durchpasst. Hinten ist wiedermal länger als vorne. An den Seiten habe ich kleine Nähte gesetzt, sodass es wie Ärmel rechts und links sind und der Stoff sich auch hebt, wenn man die Arme hebt.
I had a square fabric and cut a hole in the middle where my head would fit through. Once again, the back is longer than the front. I made small seams at the sides so that they are like sleeves on the right and left and the fabric also lifts when you raise your arms.
Mir gefällt es auch sehr, da es schlicht und einfach ist, doch durch das goldfarbene Band auch etwas elegant aussieht. Auch gefällt es mir, weil es zu jedem Outfit problemlos dazu passt und alles ein bisschen auflockert.
Was ich auch gemacht habe ist, dass ich Hosen gekürzt habe und angepasst habe. So habe ich mind 5 Hosen wieder tragbar gemacht :) und das find ich auch echt nicht schlecht.
I also really like it because it's simple and plain, but the gold-colored band makes it look a bit elegant. I also like it because it goes with any outfit without any problems and breaks everything up a bit.
What I have also done is to shorten and adjust my pants. I've made at least 5 pairs of pants wearable again :) and I don't think that's a bad thing.
Anhand des Bildes kann man erkennen, dass ich die hinteren Hosentaschen herausgenommen habe, sodass ich oben den Bund auf meine Taille kürzen kann.
Dies habe ich bei jeder Hose gemacht. Nur habe ich diese hier unten locker gelassen, während ich 2 anderen Hosen auf meine Figur angepasst habe, was auch echt Geduld gekostet hat :D
Bei den 2 Hosen habe ich unten das Hosenbein etwas gekürzt, da sie immer über die Schuhe gingen.
You can see from the picture that I have taken out the back pockets so that I can shorten the waistband at the top to fit my waist.
I did this with every pair of pants. But I left this one loose at the bottom, while I adjusted 2 other pants to my figure, which also took a lot of patience :D
I shortened the legs of the 2 pairs of pants a little at the bottom because they always went over my shoes.
Die rechte Hose ist eine mind. 40 Jahre alte Leinenhose, die wegen ihres festen Stoffes beinahe unzerstörbar ist. Bis ich sie trug und sie zerstörte. Unten waren die Hosenbeine sehr zerfetzt von meiner Fahrradkette, was man jetzt gar nicht mehr sieht. Zudem habe ich ein Loch angerichtet, indem die Hose sich in der Kette verhäderte. Von den abgeschnitten Hosenbein unten habe ich nun Stoff zur Verfügung gehabt um das Loch zu füllen :)
The pants on the right are at least 40 years old linen pants that are almost indestructible due to their strong fabric. Until I wore them and destroyed them. The bottom of the trouser legs were very torn from my bike chain, which is no longer visible. I also made a hole by getting the pants caught in the chain. I now had fabric from the cut-off trouser legs at the bottom to fill the hole :)
Auch habe ich den Bund oben enger gemacht und die rechte vordere Hosentasche geflickt, sodass sie nun wieder fast wie neu ist ! :)
I also tightened the waistband at the top and mended the right front pocket so that they are now almost like new again! :)
Ach und dann habe ich noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten gemacht: wie Röcke, Taschen, Strickereien usw
Oh and then I made a few little things: like skirts, bags, knitwear etc
und hier sind noch meine laufende Projekte, die ich gerade zur Seite geschoben habe, doch noch ein paar Details bekommen:

Dieser Rock hier sieht getragen sehr gut aus, doch wenn ich mir das Bild so ansehe, denke ich mir, es brauche noch einen breiteren Taillenbund.
und nun noch 2 Teile, die ein paar Details brauchen, die ich für meinen Vater angefertigt habe:
This skirt here looks very good when worn, but looking at the picture I think it needs a wider waistband.
and now 2 more pieces that need a few details, which I made for my father:
Dieser Pulli hier bekommt an den Ärmeln noch ein Leder drangenäht, wo ich mir noch überlegen muss, wie ich es Handnähe. Ich habe schon mal das Leder und festen Garn und Nadeln extra für Leder bekommen.
This sweater here has leather sewn onto the sleeves, which I still have to figure out how to sew by hand. I've already got the leather and strong thread and needles especially for leather.
Und diese Weste im unteren Bild bekommt noch 2 Taschen. Links Mitte eine Außentasche, oben rechts an der Brust eine Innentasche.
And this vest in the picture below also has 2 pockets. An outer pocket in the middle left and an inner pocket at the top right of the chest.
Die Schultern sollen ein wenig hinausragen, sodass es förmlicher aussieht, wobei der Stoff doch recht bäuerlich scheint. Es ist auch ein dicker, fester Stoff, der sehr alt aussieht.
The shoulders should stick out a little so that it looks more formal, although the fabric does seem quite peasant. It is also a thick, firm fabric that looks very old.
Wie man unschwer erkenne kann, sind manche Projekte noch nicht abgeschlossen. Allerdings dachte ich mir, jetzt sei doch die beste Zeit mal eine Rückmeldung der letzten Monate zu geben ! :)
Und ich hoffe euch hat mein Beitrag gefallen. Alle Bilder entstammen von mir, alle Werke die aus gedanklichen Ideenspielerein stammen, sind von mir in die Tat mit der Hand umgesetzt worden. Wobei meine Nähmaschine in den letzten Monaten doch auch schon viel mitmachen musste.

As you can easily see, some projects have not yet been completed. However, I thought now would be the best time to give some feedback on the last few months! :)
And I hope you enjoyed my post. All the pictures are my own, all the works that are the result of my brainstorming have been realized by hand. Although my sewing machine has had to go through a lot in the last few months.

Your confident work is inspiring: I love how you are exploring sewing intuitively and making huge progress in reconstructing clothing... I love this style, your fabrics, the ruffles... It's exciting to see how folks like us are reinventing our clothes!
Like you, I also have some leather bits and pieces, and am excited to see what I can make out of them; expecially a lovely, simple suede waistcoat, which I see as the base for a bodiced dress, with other leather pieces...

Oh aye, for sure I do feel that!! I am struggling to get back into flow, having been doing a lot of hosting and not-sewing, though! Looking forward to the next time I feel super-obsessed! ;-D
