Change blue cute dress in something new

Hey,

I found this dress at the market
and the benefits are:

  • It only cost me about 1,30€
  • It is made entirely of linen (my favourite material for sewing and dressing)

Soooo,
I am really happy that I found this cute little dress.
It is also very comfortable and functional as a working dress as it doesnt reach the floor but stops just below the knees. This means I can wear it for different works and it looks great at the same time. So when I dont have the time to dress up, this should be enough. Also I can use it as a lab coat.

But it isnt quite my style. I dont like how it fits around the chest. So I cut it off! :P

At first I wanted to serrate it but then I decided on different method because I didnt have enough material for what I had in my expectation.

Then I cut off a looooottt !!!

I wasnt quite unsure if it would work out the way I imagined, but then I thought to myself, oh well, I'll just use the bottom part as a skirt.

So lets give it a try.

And it worked out!

I would like to briefly describe the entire sewing process:

I hem the edge
and then I created a tunnel to pull a cord through and voilá:

all exclusively by hand

It is strapless and I really like it. It should be perfect for the summer :) I always wear a scarf anyway.

I know a lot of people who buy complete finished linen clothings but its really expensive.
I buy old stuff and turn them into something new and a a price that shouldnt be a problem, i guess?

lets see what I'll craft next :) I am currently switching my wardrobe from mostly cotton dresses to more linen clothing.
And what I've noticed is that linen gives the whole outfit a different vibe. Today's modern plastic trends are cheap :D and people stink a lot more in them... its unbelievable.

Sooo have a great week!
And have fun in the game called life :P
I hope you enjoyed my post :)

Should I add a embroidery? (; Maybe a deer on the chest?

Yeah! It's a perfect dress for summer.
If you ask me, I don't think adding embroidery to this piece will be necessary; leave it simple. You can accessorize it whenever you want to wear it.
