The crucial question is whether those threshold changes would hold up to scrutiny today given current evidence. If they wouldn't, the shifts look deliberately misleading and should be reversed

Medical "normal ranges" adjustments:
1985: Fasting glucose >140 mg/dL = diabetic
2003: Lowered to 126 mg/dL
Suddenly 2 million more diabetics
1985: Blood pressure >160/100 = hypertension
2017: Lowered to 130/80
