Wire Dreamcatcher | step by step [Eng-Esp]

Greetings, fellow craft lovers! Welcome back to my workshop @bricolajedc. Today, I'd like to share with you a project I did in one of my wire crafting classes, which resulted in a wire dreamcatcher pendant. Join me as I show you the creative process.

En esta oportunidad me encantaría compartir con ustedes una práctica que hice de una de mis clases de alambrismo y el resultado fue un colgante Atrapasueños en alambre. 7 centimeters of hypoallergenic #18 gauge jewelry wire
1.5 meters of hypoallergenic #26 gauge jewelry wire
25 centimeters of #30 twisted wire
16 Murano crystals #6
8 Murano crystals #8
Gold-colored Czech seed beads #10

Elaboración:

Para hacer este Atrapasueños, vamos a comenzar haciendo un aro con el alambre #18. Para esto usamos la pinza 6 en 1 en el #6.

Take the twisted wire and cover the entire base ring.

Tomamos el alambre entorchado y vamos a cubrir todo el aro de base.

We take the #26 wire and a crystal. I chose light blue to start with and navy blue for the border. We take a light blue crystal and measure 1 centimeter from the base.

Then we twist it three times. We wrap the wire around the base ring three times and repeat the process with the next crystal.

Tomamos el alambre #26 y un cristal. Yo escogí el color celeste para comenzar y un azul marino para el borde. Tomamos un cristal celeste y medimos 1 centímetro de la base.

Para luego entorchar 3 vueltas. Damos 3 vueltas con el alambre sobre el aro de base y hacemos el mismo proceso con el siguiente cristal.

We do this 8 times until the entire ring is complete. We can add crystals depending on our taste.

Hacemos esto 8 veces hasta completar el aro completo. Podemos agregar cristales eso va a depender de nuestro gusto.

Once the first round of crystals is complete, we will make the second round by placing the intermediate crystals next to those in the first round. We pass the wire behind one of the crystals and measure 1 centimeter, then move on to the next crystal at the back. One loop of wire around each crystal will be sufficient.

Una vez terminada la primera vuelta de cristales, vamos a hacer la segunda ubicando los cristales intermedios a los de la primera vuelta. Pasamos el alambre por detras de uno de los cristales y medimos 1 centímetro y nos pasamos al siguiente cristal por la parte de atrás. Con una vuelva de alambre sobre cada cristal será suficiente.

We complete the 8 crystals of the second round, and we will do the same with the blue crystals. As they are larger, there will be fewer rounds to twist.

Completamos los 8 cristales de la segunda vuelta, haremos lo mismo con los cristales azules, al ser más grandes serán menos vueltas para entorchar.

Once we have finished stringing the large crystals, we will thread the gold beads between each of the crystals. This will form the hoop of the dreamcatcher.

We take the thread and make a long tassel. We can use 4 fingers to make it much easier than with cardboard.

Una vez que terminamos la vuelta de cristales grandes, vamos a pasar ls mostacillas doradas entre cada uno de los cristales. Esto hará el aro del Atrapasueños.

Tomamos el hilo y vamos a hacer una borla de larga. Podemos utilizar 4 dedos para que sea mucho más sencilla que con el cartón.

We need a clip in the shape of an 8 to hang the tassel on the dreamcatcher. We attach the tassel with twisted wire 1 centimeter from the base. We comb it and hang it up.

Necesitamos un broche en forma de 8 para colgar la borla en el Atrapasueños. Fijamos la borla con alambre entorchado a 1 centímetro de la base. Peinamos y colgamos.

And this is how this beautiful project turns out. It is very easy to make; the most important thing is to keep the same distance between each of the pieces of glass.

Y así es como queda este bonito proyecto. Es muy sencillo de elaborar, lo más importante es mantener la misma distancia entre cada uno de los cristales.

I love how this pendant turned out. I think it would look spectacular on a maxi necklace, so I'll make one to go with it, along with some earrings.

All that's left is to play with colors and combinations to create a beautiful dreamcatcher.
