Walk Palmira, a beautiful artisan village[Eng-Esp]
Greetings, fellow world travelers! Welcome back to my blog. This time, I invite you to discover the beautiful traditional town of Palmira in the state of Táchira. Join me as I show you the trip I took with my family.
I have always thought of Palmira as a little town straight out of a fairy tale, where everyone lives happily doing what they love.
We had the opportunity to visit Abejal de Palmira, a village of artisans dedicated to working with clay and basketry. I have to say, this is my favorite place. I love buying these kinds of decorations to keep the spaces in my home and workshop with that artisanal style that I love.
Then we returned to Palmira. We wanted to see the church and Plaza Bolívar. My daughter played with her skateboard while my husband and I reminisced about the old days, when we were dating 12 years ago. Palmira was where we had our first date.
I walked around the entire plaza, which is very well preserved. Its landscaping and fountain, which was not turned on, but the clay jars represent this very artisanal town very well.

A must-see in this town is Plaza Bolívar, where you will find the church, the Guasimos municipal government building, and the main shops located around this beautiful and picturesque square. It is one of my favorites in the state of Táchira.

I walked around the entire plaza, which is very well preserved. Its landscaping and fountain, which was not turned on, but the clay jars represent this very artisanal town very well.

The sun was setting and casting its last rays of light on the towering trees in the square. The townspeople who gathered to chat in the square passed by us, and not a single one failed to greet us with a warm "good afternoon." That's what I love about being home, the friendliness of the people of Táchira state.
It seemed to me that Palmira is exactly as I remember it, although some people in the community told us that the art of basket weaving has been largely lost due to migration, and many of the businesses dedicated to the manufacture and sale of handicrafts have closed down. I hope they don't let what makes this place so special be lost.
It was a very entertaining family outing, and it was fun to walk these streets again, which are so full of memories for us. I hope to return soon to visit Palmira.
I hope you enjoyed this Wednesday's outing. See you next time. BYE!!!

Luego regresamos a Palmira.

Espero volver pronto a visitar Palmira.
CHAO!!!

Me encanta presumir mi estado 🥰.
That bit about returning to the plaza where your love story began really landed. Seeing your daughter rolling on her skatebaord while you two remember those early days feels like time doing a small circle, and and it’s beautiful. I also hope the craft spirit stays strong, from clay work to baksetry, because places like that carry a town’s heart. The ADmin offices around the square might change, but the warmth you felt at sunset sounds like it’s still there.
You're absolutely right. I'm glad you were able to share with us this wonderful return to the place where this family was born. I also hope that the craftsmanship will continue... Thanks for stopping by.

so happy my words resonated with your beautiful return, it felt like walking those streets with you.
May the craftsmansip keep breathing through the hands of new makers and and the memories you share.
Thanks for the slice, that was sweet.
Do you have a favorite piece from Abejal that always pulls you back?
It's true: Andean people are very polite and respectful, and they love their culture. It was a simple and warm walk through Palmira. Greetings, @chacald.dcymt
