Doodling Splinterlands: Traces of Time with Continuum Seer [Eng-Esp]

Greetings, fellow craft lovers! Welcome back to my workshop @bricolajedc, where we will have another Splinterlands doodling session. This time, we will be using the Zentangle technique, which is one of my favorites because of its ability to help relax and clear the mind. My doodle today is inspired by the Continuum Seer card. Join me and I'll show you my creative process.

For this project, I used:

1 sheet of white opaline cardstock
1 sheet of white opaline cardstock
2Hb pencil
0.5 mm black gel pen
Purple marker
Neon purple highlighter
Black fine-tip marker
Ruler

I started by analyzing the card. I really liked the hourglass that the seer is holding in her hands. So, I started my doodle based on this element of the card.

What I like about these fan art pieces is that I can make simple strokes to achieve my own personalized doodle, taking advantage of those moments when art flows without having to plan too much.

I wanted to make a new doodle, as I usually call my drawings, which, although they are not professional, always end up surprising even me with the final result.

Continuum Seer is a mysterious figure with an imposing air, holding an hourglass in his hands. That image caught my eye from the very beginning. For me, the hourglass symbolizes the flow of time and the calm needed to observe it without rushing. So I decided to take that element as the starting point to create something very personal. It's also purple, which is one of my favorite colors.

I started by drawing the clock in the center, shaping it with soft lines and some shadows to give it volume. From there, I let my imagination do its thing. I began to work on the rest of the space using the Zentangle technique, which many people already know for how therapeutic and liberating it can be.

Working with Zentangle is a deeply relaxing experience. You don't need to have great artistic skills, just let yourself be carried away by repetitive patterns, rhythmic strokes, and the soft sound of the pen on the paper. It's like active meditation.

I wanted to do everything in semicircles; it's not the first time I've used this pattern. But I really like that everything looks like part of a spiral.

My favorite part is when the spirals fill up with different shapes on each line. It gives me the feeling that we are spinning, and with each turn, a space is filled with organic shapes, spirals, lines, and dots.

My mind clears. I stop thinking about things I have to do, responsibilities, the noise of everyday life. I even noticed that it took me 1 hour and 40 minutes to do this doodle.

Zentangle has that effect: it traps you in the present. There are no mistakes, everything you draw can become part of the design. I love how that freedom is also reflected in the final result. My drawing ended up full of movement and texture, as if time, represented by that hourglass, was spilling out all over the page.
