My proposal for the Hive Book Club logo | Handmade with love
Greetings fellow book lovers! Today I would like to join the Hive Book Club Graphic Design Contest and submit a simple proposal for their revamped logo.
Sketch
I'm always doodling here and there, with this design was no exception. I took my brush tip markers, a sheet of paper and a pencil to create my proposal.
We needed something to represent the hive book club. Then it occurred to me to take the original Hive logo, after all it is our home. I would also like an open book that represents the magic of the contents of a book.
After that I colored it to get an idea of what I was looking for when digitizing the logo. The handmade result:
Digitizing
For this process I used Powerpoint, one of my New Year's resolutions is to learn how to use editing programs, for now I only have Powerpoint and Canva.
I started by downloading the vectors of an open book and the Hive logo. I placed them one on top of the other and then I duplicated the book and changed its color with grayscale to make the shadow.

I went with the second option. Then I saved it and I really liked the final result of the digitizing.
Dividers
I made the dividers in Canva. I used the color chart provided in the contest rules so it was much easier to select the colors. I really didn't want to go out of the design so I stuck with the red from the Hive logo and the 2 shades of blue from the book.

Banner
I think that the banner is a personalized seal, that's why I wanted to create a slogan that invites us to be part of the Book Club.
A book opens the door to your imagination. Hive Book Club is the window where you can share it.
And of course the invitation to subscribe to the community.
