Art Journal: "Wildlife Sunset" | Coffee Painting โ๐๏ธ
Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! I hope you're all having a fantastic day.
This captivating coffee painting commands attention with its breathtaking sunset scene, where the warm hues of the sky powerfully contrast with the silhouettes of two deer amidst tall grass. I skillfully utilized coffee's rich, earthy tones to establish a profound sense of depth and tranquility. The soft brushstrokes effectively convey gentle movement in the sky, while the detailed foreground sharpens the focus on the wildlife, creating a compelling contrast between the sky's vastness and the intimacy of the animals. This composition doesnโt just evoke feelings; it embodies the powerful serenity and the stunning beauty of the natural world. This piece is undeniably a remarkable addition to any art collection.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
๐ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
๐ Pencil and Eraser
๐ Coffee Powder
๐ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
๐ Ruler
๐ Clean Water
๐ Rag
๐ Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
๐ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
๐ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
๐ Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
โข Outline or sketch your painting reference.
โข Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
โข On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
โข The same procedure with the foreground.
โข Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
โข Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
