Art Journal: Sunset Dusk in Coffee ☕🖌️

Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! How are you all doing? In this post, I painted an attractive sunset scene using coffee as a medium.
The scene is brought to life by the warm, coffee-toned colors. The diffused light of the setting sun casts its warm glow across the water, it adds beauty to the landscape. The distant mountain and the trees in the foreground are in harmony bringing life to the scene, while the birds give movement to the hazy sky.
I used three painting brushes to complete this piece, which took me an hour. For those interested in trying this unique medium, follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
👉 Watercolor Paper, sketching Paper, or stretched canvas
👉 Pencil and Eraser
👉 Coffee Powder
👉 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
👉 Ruler
👉 Clean Water
👉 Rag
👉 Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
👉 Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
👉 Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
👉 Filbert brush

Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.

Basic Procedure:
• Outline or sketch your painting reference.
• Paint using a lighter background shade by creating a beautiful texture.
• On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
• The same procedure as the foreground.
• Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
• Then add details to bring your painting to life. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
