Art Journal: "Peaceful Shores" | Coffee Painting โ๐๏ธ
Greetings, art enthusiasts! How are you there? I hope you are having a wonderful day.
This coffee painting powerfully conveys a sense of calm and serenity. The muted palette of browns and creams establishes a peaceful atmosphere, reminiscent of a tranquil beach at dawn. I employ soft brushstrokes to effectively portray a serene sea, with distinct islands or landmasses visible on the horizon. A flock of birds in flight injects a compelling sense of movement and life into the scene. The overall impact is one of profound contemplation and an appreciation for the beauty of a simple, natural landscape. The painting's intricate details and balanced composition assert its role as a soothing and thought-provoking piece.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
๐ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
๐ Pencil and Eraser
๐ Coffee Powder
๐ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
๐ Ruler
๐ Clean Water
๐ Rag
๐ Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
๐ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
๐ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
๐ Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
โข Outline or sketch your painting reference.
โข Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
โข On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
โข The same procedure with the foreground.
โข Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
โข Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
