Art Journal: "Moonlit House" | Coffee Painting βποΈ
Greetings, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! Happy weekend! I am thrilled to present my latest coffee artwork created today!
This coffee painting powerfully captures the essence of quiet contemplation. The muted tones, crafted entirely from coffee, create an intriguing air of mystery that demands attention. A simple house stands beneath a moonlit sky, framed by the delicate tracery of overhanging branches. The limited color palette amplifies the overall impact, directing the viewerβs eye through the nuanced interplay of shadow and tone. This piece will undeniably bring warmth and an impressive touch of sophistication to any space.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper, sketching Paper, or stretched canvas
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
