Art Journal: Moon's Giant, A Celestial Spectacle β˜•πŸ–ŒοΈ

Greetings, art enthusiasts! I hope you make the most of your day. Today, I have something remarkable to share. I’ve created an interesting artwork using coffee powder as my medium, and I appeal to you to take a look and share your thoughts.

The moon, a constant fixture in our night sky, often seems deceptively small. Now, envision the moon as a colossal presence, dominating the landscape and casting an immense shadow. This artwork conveys that very sentimentβ€”a breathtaking sense of awe at the sheer scale of this celestial giant. The vastness of the moon dwarfs everything around it, crafting a dramatic scene that is both unforgettable and compelling. It serves as a powerful reminder of the cosmic grandeur that envelops us, even during the stillness of night.

In this composition, the large, luminous moon commands attention, its light delicately illuminating the silhouettes of the trees below. The intricate details on the moon's surface, along with the varied shades of brown and gold throughout the piece, create a depth and texture that is undeniably captivating. The overall effect evokes a profound sense of peaceful contemplation, inviting you to reflect on the unparalleled beauty of the natural world at night.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
πŸ‘‰ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
πŸ‘‰ Pencil and Eraser
πŸ‘‰ Coffee Powder
πŸ‘‰ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
πŸ‘‰ Ruler
πŸ‘‰ Clean Water
πŸ‘‰ Rag
πŸ‘‰ Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
πŸ‘‰ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
πŸ‘‰ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
πŸ‘‰ Filbert brush

Basic Procedure:
β€’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β€’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β€’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β€’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β€’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β€’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.

Painting Process:
