Art Journal: Lovers at Sunset with Coffee Painting βποΈ
Hello, dear art enthusiasts! I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your day. Today, I've created a heartfelt artwork using coffee powder, and I would love for you to take a moment to look at it and share your reflections.
The sunset, with its breathtaking beauty, serves as a poignant symbol of love β vibrant, passionate, and so often fleeting. In its transience, it reveals a deeper significance, reminding us that even the briefest moments can carry an intensity that lingers in our hearts for a lifetime. As the last rays of sunlight gently fade away, we see two souls intertwined, their love story beautifully etched in the memory of a perfect sunset.
This enchanting moment, residing between day and night, possesses a timeless quality. It stands as a testament to the enduring power of love, a quiet promise whispered amidst the colors of a spectacular sunset. It feels like a perfect closing to a day filled with warmth, an everlasting memory that we can hold close to forever.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
Painting Process:
