Art Journal: "Evening in the Wild" | Coffee Painting βποΈ
Greetings, art enthusiasts! How are you there? I hope you are having a wonderful day.
This striking painting powerfully depicts a majestic stag silhouetted against a large, luminous moon. The muted palette of browns and golds establishes an undeniable warmth and serenity. The stag's antlers are impressively spread, amplifying the painting's grandeur. The impressionistic style, characterized by soft brushstrokes, effectively evokes forms rather than defining them with precision. The result is a bold statement of quiet contemplation and the inherent beauty of the natural world. The clever use of light and shadow not only emphasizes the stag's form but also creates a compelling sense of depth. This painting is an exceptional addition to any home or office.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
