Art Journal: "Cascading Waterfall" βποΈ
Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art enthusiasts! How are you all doing? I hope you make the most of your day. This is the coffee art I painted today.
This coffee painting is inspired by the serene waterfalls, There's something so interesting and captivating about the sound of rushing water. The medium of coffee allowed me to create a smooth transition of tone, enhancing the distance and depth.
I used three painting brushes for this piece, which took me an hour to complete. For those interested in trying this unique medium, follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper, sketching Paper, or stretched canvas
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.

Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter background shade by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure as the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to bring your painting to life. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
