Art Journal: "Beneath a Winter Moon" | Coffee Painting β˜•πŸ–ŒοΈ

Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art lovers! I’m excited to share my latest coffee artwork that I created today!

This coffee painting depicts a serene yet melancholic winter scene. A lone figure walks down a snow-covered path, with the moon casting a soft glow on the journey. A bare, skeletal tree stands watch, its branches reaching towards the sky. The muted color palette of browns and whites emphasizes the quiet solitude of the moment, evoking a sense of peace and introspection.

The texture of the paint itself adds a tactile dimension, mirroring the uneven surface of the snow underfoot. The overall effect is one of understated beauty, inviting viewers to contemplate the story unfolding on this peaceful winter night. The artwork subtly encourages reflection on themes of journey, solitude, and the quiet beauty of nature.

I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.

Basic Procedure:
β€’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β€’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β€’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β€’ The same procedure as the foreground.
β€’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β€’ Then add details to bring your painting to life. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
