Queridas amigas de Ladies of Hive, tenía ya bastante tiempo sin publicar por aquí porque, como a muchas personas les habrá pasado, el trabajo terminó absorbiendo mi vida por completo. Sin embargo, hoy decidí publicar porque me puse a curiosear un poco en la comunidad de Hive ya que soy fan de la música y visito para ver las publicaciones de mis amigos, y en eso me topé con Ladies off hive y con esta pregunta que me pareció muy interesante, necesaria y que va de acuerdo con lo que estoy viviendo en este momento.
Me dije: ¡esto es una señal!
Dear friends at Ladies of Hive, I haven't posted here in quite some time because, as has happened to many people, work ended up taking over my life completely. However, today I decided to post because I was browsing the Hive community a bit, since I'm a music fan and I visit to see my friends' posts, and that's when I came across Ladies off hive and this question, which I found very interesting, necessary, and in line with what I'm going through right now.
I said to myself: this is a sign!
¿Qué has decidido dejar ir para tener un año mejor?/What have you decided to let go of in order to have a better year?
Y bueno amigas, justo este año decidí soltar la carga laboral que no me pertenece ya que durante mucho tiempo estuve asumiendo responsabilidades y problemas de otros simplemente “porque sí”, llenándome de tareas que me robaban lo que más quiero: mi tiempo para escribir, mi pasión por la poesía y mis momentos de lectura y si, es sabido que todas necesitamos trabajar para mantener nuestra casa y nuestra familia, y no es que haya renunciado, pero sí tomé la decisión de dejar de lado esas cargas que me restaban bienestar personal.
Well, friends, this year I decided to let go of the workload that doesn't belong to me, since for a long time I was taking on other people's responsibilities and problems simply “because I had to,” filling myself with tasks that stole what I love most: my time to write, my passion for poetry, and my moments of reading. And yes, we all know that we need to work to support our homes and families, and it's not that I've quit, but I did make the decision to let go of those burdens that were detracting from my personal well-being.
Si no hubiera tomado esa decisión, en este momento no les estaría escribiendo; seguramente estaría resolviendo un problema de alguien más en lugar de estar presente para mí misma. He decidido hacer solo lo que me corresponde para estar libre para mí y para mi familia. Y les confieso que ya noto las ganancias: he compartido mucho más con mis tres hijos y mi mamá, y aunque la vida siempre presenta sus vicisitudes, ellos están felices de verme presente. Me siento verdaderamente contenta y en paz con esta elección, porque al final del día, el bienestar familiar y la propia creatividad son los tesoros que realmente debemos proteger.
If I hadn't made that decision, I wouldn't be writing to you right now; I would surely be solving someone else's problem instead of being there for myself. I have decided to do only what I need to do to be free for myself and my family. And I confess that I am already seeing the benefits: I have shared much more with my three children and my mother, and although life always has its ups and downs, they are happy to see me around. I feel truly happy and at peace with this choice, because at the end of the day, family well-being and creativity are the treasures we must truly protect.

Exactly! It's a relief when you finally stop carrying other people's baggage, and sometimes learning the hard way teaches us the clearest lessons, but the important thing is that today we both know that our peace is non-negotiable and we're going for a wonderful 2026.

This is an amazing decision you've made for yourself, and it only comes through those moments of self-reflection. Totally glad you did because as much as we ought to help one another, it is important to have a limit to avoid it feeding deeply into the time meant for our families and the things we love.
