My NerdQaxe++ Bitcoin Miner is finally running πŸ”Œ

Today was the day it happened!

My transformer arrived!!!! I am so stoked to finally be solo mining Bitcoin! 😎

Let me take you through the journey of the setup.

Receiving the miner

On July 14th I received my new NerdQaxe++ Bitcoin Miner.
I was SO excited!

But the happy time was over quite fast as I couldn't use the miner.

Unboxing

As I was opening the parcel, I was pleased to see how well it had been packed by BitcoinMerch. Props to them for handling packaging so well!

When I first opened up the package, I saw some red stuff underneath the packaging. Awesome!
I had ordered the miner on a red stand.

After having removed the huge airpads (nice name, huh?), seeing the miner more clearly and realizing there's more in the parcel than just a miner and power supply.

In total, the package contained

  • 1 NerdQaxe++ Bitcoin Miner
  • 1 power supply
  • Bitcoin coin (obviously not a real one πŸ˜†)
  • 1000 Venezuelan Bolivars
  • 2 bitcoin stickers

When I opened the power supply, I saw that I could not plug it in because it had a US plug.
Bummer!!

The setup

Fast forward to today, August 2nd, and I received my transformer, making it possible to plug my miner in for the very first time.

Oh yes, baby! We're LIVE!

I've been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. Feels like 4 months, although "only" being roughly 19 days.

It was time to get to it!

It has been done!
The plug is now ready to be put directly in the socket. So... let's go!

Powering up the miner

As soon as I turned on the electricity, the miner turned on.
OH YES!
The excitement is hanging thick in the air.

I went on and set up the miner as described in countless tutorials, and before I knew what was going on, I had to restart the miner and...

BOOM!!!

No, it didn't blow up - thankfully! πŸ˜†

It started mining!

39 seconds into mining, 0 GH/s 13 minutes into mining, 5 TH/s

With a power consumption of 80-85W this hashrate is pretty damn good!
It is said, that the hashrate of this is on 4.8 TH/s without overclocking. I have decided to let it be the standard rate, as overclocking would increase power consumption to about 115W. Not a lot more, but still enough to increase heat, noise and whatnot.

It has been stable at 54Β° C, and it was even at 5.4 TH/s at one point. I managed to get an image of that πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜†

my current setup - will be upgraded closeup of 5.4 TH/s

What's next?

You guessed it:
Hit a block!

Imagine hitting a block within the first month of solo mining from home.
Talk about a dream come true!!

If I, which I truly hope, hit a block before January 14th, I will give away 0.1 $BTC

No clue yet how I’ll do it, but let’s see if the block fairy visits first πŸ’―
Just imagine!

One thing is for sure, it will be for Lions 🦁 (For newcomers, this means people who use the InLeo platform)

Thank you for reading.
Feel free to drop questions, tips, or share your own mining setup in the comments.

Ow damn that is a great move!

Mind sharing your total investment on it?
Starting 2027 we cannot net our excess power returns over the year, while they are charging penalties for lost incomes… so defintly worth to see if I can make use if excess energy

I got it for free... but the cost including shipping for a badboy like this is about $630.

Unfortunately I don't live a place where I use the excess power, but next I'll be looking into some solar setup that can provide the electricity needed (while also having a backup supply, maybe battery) 😎

I would recommend you get one (or more) of these miners if you have that excess energy stored.. or maybe selling it via the services who provide that - if you have that in NL 🀞🏼

Tnx man!

I will look into it!
Right now I can spread my energy returns over the year, cancel the peaks in the summer with the shortages in the winter. Starting 2027 , you cannot spread it anymore. So I have 8 months of excess energy a year (generate +/- 4 MwH / year) so worth looking into!

Have you looked into AI battery in NL? We have a few companies here who has that.
Basically, they pay you for providing energy back to the grid

It's very grateful to share 0.1 $BTC :o

Any idea what the odds are?

Yeah... Extremely low 🀣
AI told me with 5 TH/s, to be SURE to hit a block would take like... thousands or even millions of years

Well well congratulations. Just one question, can you mine some other coin using the same miner?

I haven't checked up on that so I can't say. Not sure I would want to mine other coins with hardware like that πŸ˜ƒ

Not bad for a small miner. My Nerdminer doesn't even get in the TH range. I think it's around 54 KH but with under 2 watt power. It's more like a lottery and it shows zero block since I started months ago. πŸ˜‚ !LOL

That is good for a miner at 2 Watts 😁
Mine is higher, so I would be shutting it down if it was below 1 TH/s 🀣

Good question... It's been a while since I did set it up.

I thought about going with public-pool, but currently it's set to powermining, and the fallback pool is eusolo.ckpool
