O caso Edcley Teixeira e a meritocracia [EN/PT-BR]

In the last edition of the ENEM exam, a medical student was responsible for the annulment of three questions on the test because he had anticipated practically identical questions during his tutoring session. Initially, it was thought to be a leak, but in reality, Edcley Teixeira discovered a loophole and decided to exploit it.

Accepted into the Medicine program at the Federal University of Ceará, the student from Sobral dedicated himself to anticipating the content of the ENEM exams in order to sell his online tutoring services and help other students pass the test.

In addition to studying previous exams, Edcley also studied the work of the university professors responsible for the exam, which he claims to have discovered through the Access to Information Law. Later, he also discovered that INEP (National Institute for Educational Studies and Research) would use questions from the CAPES University Talent Award as a pre-test and began paying participating university students to try to memorize the questions.

In a way, what the student from Ceará did was hack the ENEM by exploiting loopholes through clues he discovered over the years. However, in his greed to sell his tutoring services, he also began to advertise that he could predict the exam questions and created a series of terms such as "reverse engineering" and Item Response Theory analyses.

This is not the first time Edcley has managed to "hack" the ENEM exam, but a live stream on YouTube ended up revealing the method he used to anticipate the questions, leading to a search and seizure operation by the Federal Police to verify whether or not there was a leak of this year's exam.

Na última edição do ENEM, um estudante de Medicina foi responsável pela anulação de três questões da prova por ter antecipado em sua monitoria questões praticamente idênticas. A princípio, pensou-se tratar de vazamento mas, na verdade, Edcley Teixeira descobriu uma brecha e resolveu explorá-la.

Aprovado para o curso de Medicina na Universidade Federal do Ceará, o estudante de Sobral se dedicou a antecipar o conteúdo das provas do ENEM para vender sua monitoria online e auxiliar outros estudantes a passarem no exame.

Além de estudar provas anteriores, Edcley estudava também a produção dos professores universitários responsáveis pela prova, que ele diz ter descoberto através da Lei de Acesso à Informação. Depois, descobriu também que o INEP utilizaria questões do Prêmio CAPES Talento Universitário como pré-teste e passou a pagar para que os universitários participantes tentassem memorizar as questões.

De certa forma, o que o estudante cearense fez foi hackear o ENEM explorando brechas através de pistas que descobriu ao longo dos anos. No entanto, na ganância para vender sua monitoria, também passou a divulgar que conseguia prever as questões da prova e criou uma série de termos como "engenharia reversa" e análises da Teoria de Resposta ao Item.

Não é a primeira vez que Edcley conseguiu "hackear" a prova do ENEM, mas uma live no YouTube acabou escancarando o método utilizado por ele para antecipar as questões e rendeu uma operação de busca e apreensão pela Polícia Federal para verificar se houve vazamento ou não da prova deste ano.
