Motivos que alegran mi vida 😃 Reasons that brighten my life

Esta semana he estado muy ocupada, pero han sido ocupaciones positivas, llenas de felicidad, de buenos momentos y buenos recuerdos.

La primera que vengo a contarles es que esta semana llego mi mama a visitarme, ustedes tal vez se pregunten que tiene eso de especial, pero es que para nosotros que vivimos 15 horas de donde ella vive solo la podemos ver una vez al año, por la época de navidad.

This week I have been very busy, but they have been positive occupations, full of happiness, good times and good memories.

The first one I come to tell you is that this week my mom came to visit me, you may wonder what is so special about that, but for us who live 15 hours away from where she lives, we can only see her once a year, at Christmas time.

El hecho que ella venga es motivo de fiesta en casa, es motivo de celebración ya que además viene a celebrar su cumpleaños numero 89 con nosotros y poder celebrar esa fecha a su lado es definitivamente la cereza del pastel.

Aca en Caracas vivimos 3 hermanas y todas la tenemos que compartir un rato, además de sus nietos quienes desde ya la están pidiendo a gritos para que los visite.

The fact that she is coming is cause for celebration at home, it is cause for celebration because she is coming to celebrate her 89th birthday with us and to be able to celebrate that date with her is definitely the icing on the cake.

Here in Caracas we live 3 sisters and we all have to share her for a while, besides her grandchildren who are already screaming for her to visit them.

Mi mamá es una persona muy alegre, siempre tiene sus ocurrencias y por eso nos saca muchas sonrisas.

Aunque ya tiene una edad avanzada y su cuerpo se sienta agotado y lastimado con los años, la verdad es que su cuerpo y su espíritu dicen otra cosa. Ella es una persona que disfruta vivir y agradece día tras día por todo lo que Dios le ha regalado.

My mom is a very cheerful person, she always has her witticisms and that's why she makes us smile a lot.

Although she is already old and her body feels exhausted and hurt with the years, the truth is that her body and her spirit say otherwise. She is a person who enjoys living and is grateful day after day for all that God has given her.

Por eso, no podía dejar de contarles esta felicidad que siente mi corazón; es por esto de mi ausencia temporal en estos días de vacaciones.

That is why I could not fail to tell you about this happiness that my heart feels; that is the reason for my temporary absence during these days of vacation.

Pero además de todo vengo a contarles de una segunda cosa que me sucedió esta semana, para ser exactos el día sábado, ya que me encontré con mis amigos y excompañeros de y trabajo, un reencuentro con estas personas que conocí hace 30 años cuando inicié mi carrera policial.

But in addition to everything I come to tell you about a second thing that happened to me this week, to be exact on Saturday, since I met with my friends and former colleagues and work, a reunion with these people I met 30 years ago when I started my police career.

Me encantó que organizaran un día para vernos y compartir. Me encanto ver a esas personas que en algún momento me cubrieron mi espalda, me apoyaron, celebraron conmigo alegrías, tristezas, triunfos y derrotas.

Con ellos trabajé durante 17 años y tengo que confesar que fueron los mejores años de mi vida.

I loved that they organized a day to see each other and share. I loved seeing those people who at some point had my back, supported me, celebrated with me joys, sorrows, triumphs and defeats.

I worked with them for 17 years and I have to confess that they were the best years of my life.

Me gusto saber de sus vidas, sus hijos, sus proyectos, su salud. La verdad es que la edad no llega sola y todos tenemos alguna situación de salud, gracias a Dios nada grave, pero hasta eso nos hacía reír. Hablábamos de cuando nos reuniéramos en el futuro y llegáramos todos con un bastón en la mano. Pero no importa como lleguemos lo que importa es llegar.

I enjoyed learning about their lives, their children, their projects, their health. The truth is that age does not come alone and we all have some health situation, thank God nothing serious, but even that made us laugh. We talked about when we would get together in the future and we would all arrive with a cane in our hands. But it doesn't matter how we get there, what matters is getting there.

Esta semana la inicio con el corazón feliz y de seguro seguiré disfrutando de mi madre y una que otra sonrisa seguirá saliendo de mi rostro cuando recuerde ese reencuentro con mis amigos, sus abrazos, besos, bailes, cantos y mucho más.
La vida es así, es un sube y baja, pero venga como venga yo estoy aquí, dispuesta a sacar lo bueno de ella por siempre.

This week I start it with a happy heart and for sure I will continue to enjoy my mother and a smile or two will keep coming out of my face when I remember that reunion with my friends, their hugs, kisses, dances, songs and much more.
Life is like that, it is an up and down, but no matter how it comes I am here, ready to take the good out of it forever.
