Yellow Week - Valentine's Day: a safe advance and much solidarity [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community! Today I'm joining you to share another day in the classroom. This time, I'm bringing you the start of our Yellow Week 🌞. We've been working on color theory for three weeks now, so we began with the basic pigment colors: blue, yellow, and red. It's funny how the children initially felt strange or a little uncomfortable with the idea of painting with only one color, as it's not something they're used to. But the idea is precisely for them to step outside their comfort zone and understand the concepts of saturation, hue, and brightness. In any case, it's much easier to learn to master just one color first than to handle all the colors that exist. Besides, the little ones tend to get overwhelmed and focus more on experimenting with mixing than on working on the canvas (hahaha).
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle! El dÃa de hoy me uno por aquà para compartir con ustedes un nuevo dÃa en el aula de clases. En esta ocasión les traigo lo que fue el comienzo de nuestra Semana Amarilla 🌞 hemos estado trabajando desde ya tres semanas la teorÃa del color, por lo que comenzamos primeramente con los colores pigmentos básicos. El azul, amarillo y rojo. Por lo que es cómico cómo los niños en un principio se sentÃan extraños o un poco incómodos con la idea de solo pintar con un color, pues no es algo a lo que suelen estar acostumbrados, pero la idea es precisamente que ellos salgan de su zona de confort y comprendan el trabajo de saturación, tono y brillo. En todo caso, es mucho más fácil aprender a dominar primero un solo color a manejar todos los colores que pueden existir. Además de que los más pequeños suelen abrumarse y concentrarse más en experimentar con la mezcla, que trabajar en el lienzo (jajaja).
The exercise consisted of creating a single element on the canvas using yellow, white, and black. On the other hand, some other children were finishing their carnival portraits, and fortunately, many managed to complete their work, so it was good news to see that we'll soon have everything ready. Today I finished with some of them and was able to concentrate on those who were having some difficulties with the finishing touches or following the color scheme. There are impressionistic paintings, and although they may seem simple because they are quite bright, use a lot of light, and so on, the truth is that it takes a bit of practice, and that effect is a little difficult to achieve without experience. So we tried to emulate and synthesize the information. Those who had already finished their carnival portrait assignment continued with their regular class.
El ejercicio consistió en hacer un solo elemento en el plano con el uso del color amarillo y el blanco y el negro. Por otro lado, algunos otros niños estaban terminando de trabajar con su retrato de carnaval y por fortuna, muchos niños consiguieron terminar el trabajo, por lo que fue una buen noticia ver que pronto tendremos todo listo. Hoy justamente terminé con algunos de ellos y pude concentrarme en aquellos que tenÃan algunas dificultades con los acabados y o seguir el color. Hay pinturas imoresionistas y aunque aparentemente se vean sencillas porque son bastante brillantes, uso de muchas luces y demás, lo cierto es que es un poco de práctica y ese efecto es un poco difÃcil de conseguir si no se tiene la experiencia. Asà que buscamos emular y sintetizar la información. Quienes ya han salido del deber del retrato de carnaval, continuaron con su clase regular.
Regarding the older children, we were looking at portraiture, something they are gradually working on, both front and profile portraits, so they can take note of the proportions at both angles. Of course, the exercise this time was to do it in yellow. One of the boys showed his work in red, but he did work in yellow; he was just a little embarrassed to show it. I'm so happy to see the children growing closer and sharing more; it's wonderful. The hope is that this bond will foster personal and spiritual growth, and of course, artistic development. Con respecto a los más grandes, estuvimos viendo el retrato, cosa que ellos poco a poco están trabajando retratos de frente y de perfil, para que tomen nota de la proporción en ambos ángulos. Por supuesto, el ejercicio de esta ocasión era hacerlo en amarillo. Uno de los chicos muestra en rojo, pero si trabajo en amarillo solo que le daba un poco de pena mostrarlo. Me agrada ver qué los niños están más unidos, comparten más y eso es muy lindo. La idea es que, de ser posible, esa unión conlleve al crecimiento personal/espiritual y cómo no, en el artÃstico. Quién sabe si terminan haciendo un taller de dibujo y pintura 🎨 serÃa algo grande de ver. Por cierto, estamos también en la semana del DÃa del Amor y la Amistad.
