Greetings to everyone in the Wednesday Walk community! Today I'm joining you to share my Wednesday walk. I had work this afternoon, but the good thing is that I was able to leave a little early and took advantage of the time to explore the area. Join me on this walk.

Today was quite a strange day because in the morning it was very sunny, very hot, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. So, feeling confident, I went to work when suddenly it started to rain quite heavily. I had to stop in the middle of the road and wait for the rain to let up. Fortunately, I always carry an umbrella with me, so I'm never caught without supplies. The bad thing was that I had my materials for that day's class and I hoped they wouldn't get wet. When I got to school, it had already stopped raining, so it was a little annoying to realize I had gotten wet for nothing. Classes with the children went on as normal, and we were able to make progress on a pending assignment.

To be honest, I felt I needed to take some time for myself and my partner, so after class I decided to explore the area: no rush, no rain, and at my own pace. This place is an area called Villa Africana, the plaza you see there is called Gandhi, and we have several things around us, like CIMOS (the school), the parish church, a small street market, and many more schools, like Loefling. For some reason, there are so many schools just in this area I mentioned. So I think parents won't have any trouble finding a place to enroll their children. I've always enjoyed walking around here because it's quite peaceful; there are hills, but not as steep as in Villa Colombia or the Alta Vista area. You can always see the sunset here, and you can enjoy being outdoors. As a treat after this relaxing walk, my partner and I shared a large chicha (a fermented corn beverage). There's nothing like having something sweet after a long day.

Greetings 🤗 That's right, sometimes we certainly need to give ourselves a little break. Otherwise, things pile up and we miss out on the beautiful moments of everyday life.

How much greenery and how many low buildings there are around you in your walk. It looks so peaceful. And honestly, leaving work a bit earlier to enjoy moments like this is such a gift. By the way, why is the square named Gandhi? Is it related to something that happened there or is it just in his honour?

Greetings 🤗 Thank you for your kind comment. As far as I know, the square is only named in his honor.
