Touristic Review: Macagua Pier - Sunset in the city 🌇 [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Worldmappin community! Today I join you again to share with you a new tourist review. In Ciudad Guayana, Bolivar state, Venezuela. And this time it is about El Muelle de Macagua, a restaurant located at the Macagua dam and thanks to its privileged location, it has become a very popular place for the locals of the city. So, this Sunday I had the opportunity to visit the place with my family to see one of the most anticipated phenomena in this space: the sunset. Since this is one of the reasons why the restaurant receives so much attention. Let's start with it.
As I mentioned above, the Macagua Pier is located inside the Macagua Dam, so it is a relatively restricted area (it belongs to the government), however, you can access through Loefling Avenue and passing through a proper registration at the alcabala, you are inside (following the respective signs). It should be noted that you can only enter with a vehicle, so it is a detail to take into account because the distances are also quite large from one point to another. When you get to the restaurant you will notice why it stands out among so many other restaurants: a great view of the Caroní River and the city of Puerto Ordaz. It is impossible to miss that imposing image of the river in front of the modern city.
We arrived around 4:30 pm, so the sun was still quite high and we were able to take some pictures. At that time there were still no customers (I think only a couple), but as time went by more and more people started to arrive. I understand that on weekends they bring in guest artists to offer dance music and the like. That is also another of its attractions, the live music. In general it is quite a nice place to sit and enjoy the food, the music and the view, but if I am honest I only went for the latter. We were there waiting for the sun to start to set and the truth is that it was quite a special experience because I think there are few angles from where you can see such a view. I hope the pictures speak for themselves.
There are probably many other points in Ciudad Guayana where you can see the whole city and the Caroni River, however, for the moment, this is the only point I know so far. The truth is that I liked being able to find the pier and that they didn't put obstacles in our way to get there. I think it is the first time I can see a sunset so fully; from when the sun is high, until it is about to disappear on the horizon. It went down pretty quickly and left a beautiful orange color all over the sky. A moment to remember. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
