Round 2 of Miniature Painting: Anemones and Sea Creatures [ENG/ESP] 🐙
Greetings to everyone in the community! Today I'm joining you to share a new post dedicated to this mini-painting project about the marine world. This week I've been trying to make progress on what I've been wanting to do, since activities will soon begin at the school where I work, so I won't have much free time to work on just for myself (or at least, not as much as I'd like). So, I took the time to seriously decide what I would paint and what I wouldn't, in order to make things easier for myself. Here's a little of what I've done so far. Week after week, I'll try to upload three finished mini-paintings.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nueva publicación dedicada a este proyecto de minipinturas sobre el mundo marino. Esta semana he tratado de avanzar en lo que he ododio ya que pronto iniciarán las actividades en el colegio dónde trabajo, por lo que ya no me quedara mucho tiempo libre en el que trabajar solo para mí (o al menos, tanto como quisiera), así que tome seriamente el momento para elegir que iba a pintar y que no. Cuestión de que se me faciliten las cosas. Aquí les muestro un poco de lo que he hecho hasta el momento. Semana tras semana, intentaré subiré 3 minipinturas acabadas.
I have 25 grids to paint, of which I've painted about six. I got everything from a large piece of cardboard, which I cut into 12cm x 8cm squares. The idea is also to make the most of the space, practice my painting skills, and of course... reduce costs. If I had to work on larger formats, I don't think I could or wouldn't be able to paint with the paint I have, and honestly, for the moment I haven't thought about investing that much in it. There's still quite a bit to do, so we'll see. For now, I present these three new miniature paintings: Strawberry Cichlid or Red Jewel of the Forest, Anemones, and Octopus. I chose the first fish for its intense red color and those blue/turquoise highlights that I find very beautiful. I also find the anemones very interesting, for their movement, rhythm, and color, and they create a pleasing composition (I tried to keep their shape, but I think I should have used more impasto).
Tengo 25 cuadrículas para pintar, de las cuales, he pintado unas 6 de ellas. Todo lo obtuve de una gran cartulina, la cual recorte en tamaños de 12cm x 8cm. La idea también es aprovechar del espacio al máximo, ejercitarme en ls pintura y por supuesto... reducir costos. Si tuviera que trabajar en formatos más grandes, creo que no podría o alcanzaría a pintar con la pintura que tengo y sinceramente por los momentos no he pensado en invertir tanto en ello. Aún queda bastante por hacer, así que ya veremos. Por los momentos les presento estás tres nuevas minipinturas que son: Ciclido Strawberry o Joya Roja del Bosque, Anémonas y Pulpo. El primer pez lo elegí por su rojo intenso y esos destellos azules/turquesas que me parecen muy hermoso. Las anémonas me parecen también muy curiosas, por su movimiento, ritmo y color, además que crea una composición agradable (intenté que no perdieran la forma, pero creo que debí recurrí mas al impasto).
The last choice, the octopus, I chose also for the movement of its tentacles. In addition to those violet, red, and ochre tones. I tried to highlight the figure a bit, but I think I need to correct the background. However, I really enjoyed painting each one and then adding the colored pencils, which is where I can add things that I can't with paint. So I take advantage of that to enhance the look. Ultimately, I think the series is coming along very well; it has coherence and consistency, so I hope that when they're all together, they'll look uniform. That's all for now. La última elección, el pulpo, lo elegí por también ese movimiento que ellos tienen con sus tentáculos. Además de esos tonos de violeta, rojo y ocres. Intenté resaltar un poco la figura pero creo que debo corregir el fondo. Sin embargo, disfrute mucho pintar cada uno de ellos y luego, añadir los lápices de colores que es donde puedo añadir cosas que con pintura no. Así que aprovecho para mejorar el aspecto. Finalmente creo que la serie va muy bien, tiene coherencia y constancia, así que espero que cuando estén todas juntas se vea uniformidad.
