Red-Green Week: Painting Class ❤️💚 [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I'm joining you here to share a new day in my life with you. This time we're going straight to the classroom, where at the beginning of this week we also started our week of complementary colors with Red and Green. I like to discover color little by little with the children, because color theory is much easier to understand when it is broken down and you can see its parts than if we try to see everything at once. For this reason, the children had weeks dedicated solely to working with pigment colors and their primaries. This will help them limit their palette, control color, understand that less is more, and perceive what color they are really painting.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta oportunidad vamos directo al aula de clases, dónde durante este inicio de semana también dió inicio a nuestra semana de colores complementarios con el Rojo y el Verde. A mí me gusta ir poco a poco descubriendo el color con los niños, pues la teoría del color es bastante más fácil de comprender cuando se desglosa y se ven sus partes que si intentamos ver todo al mismo tiempo. Por ello, los niños tuvieron semanas dedicadas únicamente a trabajar con los colores pigmentos y sus primarios. Eso los ayudará a limitar la paleta, controlar el color, entender el menos es más y esa percepción de qué color es realmente aquello que están pintando.
With the introduction of complementary colors, certain logics are also understood, such as how to create much richer shadows and lights than if we only use black or white for this purpose. The contrast of shadows and light with complementary colors is much more attractive and organic than if we did it with a gray scale. It stands out and harmonizes if done carefully. Little by little, they will see that this combination of primary and secondary colors is powerful and will allow them to create paintings that are more interesting, appropriate, and correct in terms of color theory. The children in the first group worked on different exercises to measure how much they should mix, what goes in green or red, and how to lower or raise the tones. I am proud of my group because they stayed focused and kept working.
Con la introducción de los colores complementarios se entienden también ciertas lógicas, cómo crear sombras y luces mucho más ricas que si solo usamos el negro o el blanco para ello. Los contraste de sombras y luces con complementarios es muchísimo más atractiva, más orgánica, a qué si lo hiciéramos con una escala de grises. Destaca y armoniza si se trabaja con cuidado. Poco a poco ellos irán viendo que esta combinación de colores primarios con los secundarios, es poderosa y les permitirá hacer obras pictóricas que sean más interesantes, adecuadas y correctas en cuestión de teoría del color. Los niños del primer grupo estuvieron trabajando con diferentes ejercicios para ir midiendo que tanto deben mezclar, que va en verde o en rojo o como bajar o subir los tonos. Me siento orgullosa de mi grupo pues se mantuvieron concentrados y trabajando.
Just as we were about to finish, the power went out, so the second group and I had to go out onto the platform to work in the daylight. We quickly set up a "still life" to do the exercise. I only measured the time for the fitting and left them free to do everything else at their own pace. For both groups, the experience was a little strange, which is normal since it's not usual to paint anything in particular with those colors, but I hope they understand the value of this class, which I really enjoyed at the time. As one of my students said, we are in the week of Christmas colors. We enjoyed the day. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.
Casi a la hora de terminar se nos fue la luz, aid que con el segundo grupo tuvimos que salir a la tarima para poder trabajar con la luz del día. Montamos rápidamente un "bodegón" para realizar el ejercicio. Con ellos medi solo el tiempo del encaje y los dejé libres a hacer a su propio tiempo todo lo demás. Para ambos grupos la experiencia fue un poco extraña, cosa normal pues no es usual pintar nada en particular con esos colores, pero espero que entiendan el valor de wsta clase que a mí en su momento me gustó bastante. Cómo me dijo una de mis esudiantes, estamos en la semana de los colores de la navidad. Disfrutamos el día. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
