One more week in the dental office: Follow-up and Control [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Daily Blog community! Today I'm joining you here to share with you a new day at the dental office. I recently made a post about it where I told you about making dental prosthetics. It's one of the most time-consuming procedures, or, to put it another way, requires constant follow-up by the patient and the dentist, who schedules several appointments. You could say it's similar to orthodontics, in that the work depends on both parties (patient and dentist) and changes are seen gradually. Although the latter is definitely much more extensive, both are different, but each leads to a specific benefit.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Daily Blog! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en el consultorio odontológico. Hace poco hice una publicación al respecto dónde les contaba cómo era realizar prótesis dentales. Es uno de los trabajos que toman más tiempo o que, en mejores palabras, lleva un seguimiento constante por parte del paciente y el odontólogo que toma varias citas. Podría decirse que similar a la ortodoncia, con respecto al que el trabajo depende de los dos (paciente/odontólogo) y que los cambios se ven de forma paulatina. Aunque definitivamente esta última es mucho más extensa. Ambas son en todo caso, diferentes, pero conlleva a un bien específico.
Regarding younger patients, there are few cases where a patient requires prosthetics. Some may need one due to trauma (accidents, blows, etc.), dental pathologies, and others, to improve aesthetics and functionality. One of the treatments the doctor and I enjoy is root canals. For us, it's even therapeutic because of the way the procedure is performed. Plus, it's a way to avoid tooth extractions in favor of preserving teeth. As I mentioned elsewhere: no one wants to lose a tooth. Root canals usually require several sessions, so the patient will be visiting the dentist for about 3 to 5 sessions. It all depends on the case and the patient. This week we finished filling a patient's root canals, which is always good news. They seem happy to have saved that tooth.
Con respecto a los pacientes más jóvenes, son pocos los casos donde un paciente requiere prótesis. Algunos de ellos pueden necesitar de una por traumatismos (accidentes, golpes, etc.), patológicas dentales y otros, a conveniencia de mejorar estética y funcionabilidad. Uno de los tratamientos que la doctora y yo disfrutamos es el de las endodoncias. Para nosotras resulta hasta terapéutico por la forma en la que se trabaja. Y además, es una forma de evitar las extracciones dentales a favor de mantener las piezas dentales. Cómo comenté en algún punto: nadie desea perder un diente. Las endodoncias suelen llevar varias sesiones, por lo que el paciente estara visitando al odontólogo de unas 3 a 5 sesiones. Todo depende del caso y del paciente. Esta semana terminamos de obturar los conductos de un paciente,lo que siempre resulta en una buena noticia. Ellos se ven felices de haber salvado dicho diente.
Among other things, this week we've also seen many patients who require cavities to be treated and resins to be placed. This is, for me, one of my least favorite treatments because it's usually a bit tiring. However, seeing the before and afters is enjoyable. We just happened to have a patient who seemed to have a good prognosis for resin, but his X-ray and clinical inspection showed that the decay had already spread too far (below the neck, above the marginal area). It's a shame, because we had to proceed with an extraction. Again, it's something no one wants to do, but it's the best thing to do in these cases. Dentistry is a vast world full of wonders, and I'm enjoying it more and more every day. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
Dentro de otras cosas, esta semana también hemos recibido muchos pacientes que requieren sanar caries y colocar resinas. Ese es para mí, uno de los tratamientos que menos me gustan porque suele ser un poco cansado. Sin embargo, ver el antes y el después es algo agradable. Justo nos tocó un paciente que parecía tener buen pronóstico para realizar una resina, pero su rx y la inspección clínica, arrojaron que la caries ya había llegado muy lejos (por debajo de cuello, encima marginal). Siendo una lastima, pues hubo que proceder con exodoncia. Nuevamente, es algo que nadie quiere hacer pero es lo mejor en estos casos. La odontología es un mundo muy basto y lleno de maravillas, de las cuales, cada día me va gustando mucho más. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.

I enjoyed going to my dentist when I was kid. She's really good at pulling dentures, and she was so kind to children. I couldn't remember a time when I got scared when visiting her clinic.I changed my dentist since I can't find her anymore.

You're absolutely right! It's trust that keeps us using a service. If the patient feels at ease with the dentist ,they will definitely keep visiting their clinic.
