Last Day at the Dental Office: The Farewell [ENG/ESP]

Greetings to everyone in the Daily Blog community! Today I'm joining you here to share with you a new day at the dental office. As you can see from the title above, this time I'm not going to talk about any treatments or patient cases, because I'm here to give you the latest news, which is that the doctor and I are no longer going to be working in the same place (in the same office). The truth is that we are moving to a new space for reasons that have to do with her and personal issues. The thing is, I will also be going with her to the new workspace, but honestly, I don't like goodbyes.

¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Daily Blog! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en el consultorio odontológico. Cómo podrán leer en el título de arriba, en esta ocasión no les hablaré sobre ningún tratamiento o caso alguno de algún paciente, pues paso por aquí para dar las últimas noticias y es que la doctora y yo ya no vamos a trabajar en el mismo lugar (en el mismo consultorio). Lo cierto es que nos estamos mudando a un nuevo espacio por motivos que tienen que ver con ella y cuestiones personales. La cuestión es que, también me iré con ella al nuevo espacio de trabajo, pero sinceramente no me gustan las despedidas.

The doctor and I had been working at the same dental office for almost a year, located in the state capital where we live. At first, although the office had everything we needed to work, the space seemed comfortable and functional but had some limitations. Over time, the owner, who is also a dentist, began to make some improvements; he put in a desk so that the doctor could sit down to write up patient records and so on, he also changed the position of the door and placed it in a more strategic location (for patient privacy reasons), he improved the air flow into the cubicle, and he planned to add more mobile shelves in the not too distant future so that more materials and instruments could be stored.

La doctora y yo llevábamos casi un año trabajando en el mismo consultorio odontológico, ubicado en la ciudad del estado en el vivimos. En un principio, aunque el consultorio tenía todo lo necesario para trabajar, el espacio parecía cómodo y funcional pero tenía algunas restricciones. Con el tiempo, el dueño y también odontólogo del lugar, comenzó a hacer algunas mejoras; colocar un escritorio para que la doctora pudiera sentarse a realizar los historiales y demás, también cambió la puerta de posición y la ubico en un sitio más estratégico (por motivos de privacidad para el paciente), se mejoró la entrada de aire al cubículo y tenía planeado en un futuro no muy lejano, añadir más estantes ambulantes para poder colocar más materiales e instrumentos.

Despite this, I don't know the reasons why the doctor wants to move from there, but probably one of them is that she lives quite far away and the new office is much closer to her home. I'm afraid to say that I don't like change. I like to adapt to a specific place and learn to love it (whatever it may be), so it's hard for me to imagine a routine other than getting up, getting ready, taking the bus, and walking to the tower where I worked. I'll miss all that quite a bit because I liked the area and it was convenient for me. However, we'll see how things go from here, and I'm not closed to the idea that everything must be for the better, so I have faith in that. This is probably my last day here. A pesar de eso, desconozco los motivos por los cuales la doctora desea mudarse de allí, probablemente uno de ellos sea que ella vive bastante lejos y el nuevo consultorio está mucho más cerca de su hogar. Temo decir que los cambios no me gustan. Me sueño adaptar a un lugar en específico y a aprender a quererlo bastante (sea cómo sea el lugar), así que se me hace difícil imaginar otra rutina que no sea la de levantarme, alistarme, tomar el autobús y caminar hasta la torre donde trabajaba. Extrañaré bastante toda esa dinámica pues me gustaba la zona y resultaba práctica para mí. Sin embargo, veremos cómo las cosas van caminando de aquí para allá y no me cierro a la idea de que todo debe ser para mejorar, así que tengo mi fe en ello. Este es probablemente mi último día aquí.
