I see my students again! School Day 💖
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community! Today I'm joining you to share a new day in my life. This time, I'm bringing you the first class of the Drawing Workshop at the school where I work. Today, Wednesday, I was finally able to meet with all my students, whom I hadn't seen since November. Although, being practical, I do see some of them from time to time because many of the children live near the school (and I live nearby too), so I can occasionally say hello when I run into them on the street or at shopping malls. Getting back to the classes, this week classes started nationwide in Venezuela, so our workshop is back in action.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle! El dÃa de hoy me uno por aquà para compartir con ustedes un nuevo dÃa en mi vida. En esta ocasión les traigo la primera clase del Taller de Dibujo del colegio dónde trabajo. Hoy miércoles pude tener este encuentro con todos mis estudiantes a quienes no veÃa desde noviembre, aunque siendo práctica, a algunos de ellos si los veo de vez en cuando porque una gran parte de los niños viven cerca del colegio (y yo también vivo cerca), asà que de vez en cuando los puedo saludar cuando los encuentro en la calle o centros comerciales. Volviendo a las clases, esta semana comenzaron las clases a nivel nacional en Venezuela, asà que nuestro taller volvió a tener vida.
Of course, being the first week, and also given the somewhat tense situation in our country, many students didn't attend classes. Not even the basic elementary or secondary classes. And that's saying something, because usually the school is always full of laughter, conversations, and kids running around. However, I stuck to the plans we had for this month. Since it was the first day, I preferred to set aside the theories and demands and chat and play a little with them to get us all settled. I really missed them, and I certainly prefer that they gradually wake up from their vacation. The activity consisted of getting to know each other a bit through an exercise where they had to recall and then share facts. This way, we create a closer relationship between classmates and can think about working as a team in the future. We finished with a free drawing activity.
Por supuesto, al ser la primera semana y también según la situación un poco tensa que se vive en nuestro paÃs, muchos estudiantes no asistieron a las clases. Si quiera también a las clases básicas de primaria o secundaria. Y eso es decir bastante pues usualmente el colegio está siempre lleno de risas, conversaciones y muchachos corriendo por aquà y por allá. Sin embargo, seguà los planes que tenÃamos para este mes. Por ser el primer dÃa, preferà dejar las teorÃas y exigencias a un lado y conversar y jugar un poco con ellos para ponernos en contexto. La verdad los extrañaba y ciertamente, prefiero que vayan despertando poco a poco de esas vacaciones. La actividad consistió en conocernos un poco a través de una dinámica para arrojar datos que ellos debÃan recordar y luego mencionar. De esa forma se crea una relación más Ãntima entre compañeros y podemos pensar en trabajar en equipo para el futuro. Finalizamos con un dibujo libre.
With the second group, my slightly older students, we did the same thing, and I also sat down to chat with them. I did ask them some questions about the material we covered previously (the material from the first teacher training session, first term), and despite the time constraints, they answered quite well. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to be their teacher. Finally, we left the classroom, and I ended my day with a delicious pizza that my husband gave me for Teacher's Day. Del segundo grupo, que son mis estudiantes un poco más mayores, hicimos lo mismo y también me senté a conversar un poco con ellos. Aquà si les hice algunas preguntas sobre los contenidos que vimos anteriormente (los que vimos en el q1primer encuentro pedagógico, primer lapso) y a pesar del tiempo, respondieron bastante bien. Muy feliz de tener la oportunidad de ser su profesora. Finalmente, nos retiramos de la clase y acabe mi dÃa con una rica pizza que me regaló mi esposo por el dÃa del maestro. Asà que fue un excelente dÃa. Por cierto, felicitaciones a todos los profesores en su dÃa. Sin más que decir, muchÃsimas gracias por pasar por aquÃ.
