I have returned to Valencia! [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Family & Friends community! Today I am joining today to share with you a new family anecdote. This time it is about the trip I made to Valencia to see my mother and stepfather again, whom I had not seen for a long time. I had not been able to set foot on Carabobo soil for more than a year for different reasons and now, finally after such a long time, I have been able to meet them again. It means a lot to me so here I tell you about my first day.
I traveled from Puerto Ordaz to Valencia through the regional buses. The trip has an estimated time of 12 to 16 hours, so it is advisable to take a good hand luggage to be prepared for the road. Luckily, this time the trip was much smoother than in other opportunities and in less time than I thought, I was already arriving at the terminal of the city where my mother was waiting for me to go home. Mom was very moved, with teary eyes and I was too. Enjoying this reunion. We are very similar in many ways and with respect to feelings and sensitivities, we are on a par. We stayed there together until the cab arrived and we left.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Family & Friends! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nueva anécdota familiar. En esta oportunidad se trata del viaje que he realizado a Valencia para poder ver de nuevo a mi madre y mi padrastro, a quienes tenía mucho tiempo sin ver. Más de un año que no había logrado pisar el suelo de Carabobo por distintos motivos y ahora, por fin luego de tanto tiempo, he podido reencontrarme con ellos. Significa bastante para mí así que aquí les cuento mi primer día.
Viaje desde Puerto Ordaz hasta Valencia a través de los buses regionales. El viaje tiene un tiempo estimado de unas 12 a 16 horas, por lo que conviene hacerse de un buen equipaje de mano para estar preparado por el camino. Por suerte, en esta oportunidad el viaje estuvo mucho más suave que en otras oportunidades y en menos tiempo de lo que pensé, ya estaba llegando al terminal de la ciudad dónde me estaba esperando mi madre para irnos a casa. Mamá estaba muy conmovida, con sus ojitos llorosos y yo también lo estuve. Disfrutando de ese reencuentro. Nosotras somos muy parecidas en muchas cosas y con respecto a los sentimientos y sensibilidades, estamos a la par. Allí estuvimos juntas hasta que llegó el taxi y nos fuimos.
At home, we settled in to catch up on things that were going on, because in reality, this trip is to check on mom's health as she has been suffering from some ailments so it is important to get her checked out. Mom is a strong person, generally very healthy but sometimes she can hold back on expressing what she feels about a particular issue to avoid worrying us (her daughters). So, as the day wore on, I got some rest and got up to help make lunch and dinner. She had looked ahead of time for the ingredients to make a pasticho, so that's what we did. We ended the evening chatting some more and making an agenda for everything to come. Things are just about to start and I hope to come back with more information about it. Valencia doesn't seem to have changed much, but we'll see. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.
En casa, nos instalamos a ponernos al día con las cosas que iban pasando, pues en realidad, este viaje es con motivo de chequear la salud de mamá ya que ha estado padeciendo algunas dolencias por lo que es importante hacerla ver. Mama es alguien fuerte, generalmente muy sana pero a veces puede reprimirse en expresar lo que siente con respecto a algún tema en particular para evitar preocuparnos a nosotras (sus hijas). Así que, en lo que transcurrió el día, descanse un poco y me levanté para ayudar a hacer el almuerzo y la cena. Ella con antelación había buscado los ingredientes para hacer un pasticho, así que eso hicimos. Terminamos la noche charlando un poco más y haciendo agenda para todo lo que se viene. Apenas las cosas están por comenzar y espero volver con más información al respecto. Valencia parece no haber cambiado mucho, pero ya veremos.
