Getting to know the artists! Art and Culture Meeting at UC - TBT [ENG/ESP]

Greetings to everyone in the Throwback Thursday community! Today I'm joining you to share with you new photographs and a story behind them. So, with that said, let's get started.
This time, I'm bringing you a memory from 2019 (approximately, because I know it was before the pandemic, but it could have been late 2018 or 2019). At that time, I was still studying Fine Arts Education at university. This is important to mention because students in that major typically develop a project and carry it out during their ninth semester, when they take the Cultural Management course. This course teaches you how to manage any type of project related to art and culture, seeking to create, develop, and promote these areas through different plans and strategies. Whenever there was a project like this, we all went to see it.
For that occasion, the students brought together various artists (from different disciplines): Isabela Colmenares (visual artist - drawing and painting - and professor at UC), Alejandra Cedeño, aka Ale Yellow (visual artist - sculpture - and graphic designer), Francisco Hernández (goldsmith and professor at UJAP), Jotashock (visual artist - muralist), Lauren Bianchi (visual artist - painting), Tabata de Ponte (tattoo artist), and Trash TCHL (muralist). The event was called Arte y Futuro (18th Art and Culture Meeting). We were all excited because several prominent artists from Valencia were present, so hearing their stories, how they got into the arts, and how they ended up making a living from their art was quite motivating. The ones in the photo are Ale Yellow and Francisco Orfebre, whom we had also met previously in class. I wanted to capture this moment, even though I missed a few more. It was a really great day, and I remember it fondly. So, without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.

¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Throwback Thursday! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes, nuevas fotografías y una anécdota detrás de ellas. Así que dicho esto, comencemos con ello.
En esta oportunidad, les traigo un recuerdo del año 2019 (aproximadamente, porque realmente sé que fue antes de la pandemia, pero podría ser finales de 2018 a 2019). Para ese momento yo todavía estaba estudiando en la universidad mi carrera de Educación en Artes Plásticas. Eso es importante mencionarlo porque justo los estudiantes de esa mención suelen realizar un proyecto y lo llevan a cabo, durante el noveno semestre cuando ven la materia de Gerencia Cultural. En dicha materia se estudia para poder gestionar cualquier tipo de proyecto que este relacionado con el arte y la cultura, por lo que busca crear, desarrollar y promover esos ámbitos a través de diferentes y planes y estrategias. Cada que había un proyecto de este estilo, todos acudíamos a verlo.
Para esa ocasión, los estudiantes reunieron a distintos artistas (con diferentes disciplinas): Isabela Colmenares (artístico plástico -dibujo y pintura- y docente de la UC), Alejandra Cedeño, alias Ale Yellow (artista plástico -escultura- y diseñadora gráfica), Francisco Hernández (orfebre y docente de la UJAP), Jotashock (artista plástico -muralista-), Lauren Bianchi (artista plástico -pintura-), Tabata de Ponte (tatuadora) y Trash TCHL (muralista). Ese evento se llamó Arte y Futuro (XVIII encuentro de Arte y Cultura). Todos estábamos entusiasmado, pues se presentaron varios artistas destacados de Valencia, por lo que escuchar su historia, cómo llegaron a las artes y cómo terminaron viviendo de su arte, era bastante motivador. Los que salen en la fotografía son Ale Yellow y Francisco Orfebre, quienes tambíen anteriormente habíamos conocido en la aulas de clase. Quise registrar este momento, aunque me faltaron algunos más. Fue un día muy genial y lo recuerdo con cariño. Así que, sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.

Hola Carmina qué gusto saber de ti por medio de este post, vaya que las artes plásticas siempre han sido fascinantes, desde que tengo uso de razón mi mamá ha incursionado en ellas pero su fuerte es el diseño de modas, sin embargo, conocer del arte con ella fue genial ya que le ayudaba full en sus trabajos cuando estudió.

Hi Carmina, how nice to hear from you through this post. The visual arts have always been fascinating. My mom has been involved in them for as long as I can remember, but fashion design is her strong suit. However, learning about art with her was great, as I helped her a lot with her work while she was studying.
