Fishing for paintings: new series of mini acrylic paintings [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the community. Today I am joining you here to share with you a new pictorial adventure. On this occasion, I bring you the first mini paintings from the new pictorial series I am working on, which has the aquatic world as its theme. Using aquatic fauna and their surroundings to create some interesting things. The idea came from my interest in immersing myself in these creatures, as I had never tried them before (perhaps very, very briefly, but nothing recent), and I really regret not having done so before, as I am really enjoying working on them thanks to their intense and saturated colors. It's also quite a challenge, as for this color palette I only have red, blue, yellow, and black/white, which doesn't give me the range of colors I need. For example, I urgently need some magenta and cyan.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nueva aventura pictórica. En esta ocasión, traigo las primeras mini pinturas de la nueva serie pictórica en la que estoy trabajando, la cual tiene como tema el mundo acuático. Usando a la fauna acuática y sus alrededores, para crear algunas cosas interesantes. La idea de surgió de mi intereses por querer empaparme en estas criaturas, pues nunca antes los había puesto a prueba (quizá muy muy en el paso, pero nada reciente) y la verdad es que lamento no haberlo hecho antes pues realmente me está gustando trabajar en ello gracias a los colores intensos y saturados que tienen. Además es todo un reto, pues para esta paleta de colores solo cuento con rojo, azul, amarillo y blanco/negro, lo cual no me otorga la suficiente gama de colores que necesito. Por ejemplo, necesito urgentemente algo de magenta y cian.
The thing is, for this series I will only be doing 25 mini paintings featuring some of the characters I mentioned above. They should also be done as a quick representation exercise, without spending too much time on each one, as I want to move on to other projects and the idea is also to do, do, and have fun, without thinking too much about the exact results or expectations I may have of it. I want to paint, so in the past I have blocked myself simply because I suddenly feel overwhelmed by the pressure to do everything exactly right, not to make mistakes, or some other pressure that was not an educational challenge but rather an obstacle that led me to give up. So now I am trying to change the rules a little and do things as I go along, because eventually, as I study, I will be able to correct and improve.
El caso es que para esta serie solo haré 25 mini pinturas las cuales tendrán algunos de los protagonistas que comenté arriba. También deben ser hechos cómo un ejercicio de representación rápida, sin dedicar demasiado tiempo en cada uno, pues deseo avanzar en otros proyectos y la idea también es: hacer, hacer y divertirse, sin pensar demasiado en los resultados exactos o expectativas que pueda tener de ello. Quiero pintar, así que anteriormente me he bloqueado simplemente porque de repente me siento abrumado por la presión de hacer todo con exactitud, no equivocarme o alguna otra presión que no fuera un reto didáctico sino más bien un obstáculo que conlleve a que desista. Así que ahora intento cambiar un poco las reglas y hacer en el camino pues eventualmente, según lo que voy estudiando, podré corregir y mejorar.
Let me tell you a little about what I did. The fish I painted were: Blue Surgeonfish, Moorish Idol, and a school of sardines. Although the latter turned out quite abstract, as it is almost impossible to distinguish any figures, which in this case are the daring sardines. In any case, for the Moorish Idol and the sardines, I didn't have time to add the details I wanted in colored pencils. Usually, when I paint with acrylics and I've finished the work, I add some details in colored pencils to highlight them and add some details that I can't achieve with acrylics, such as textures, tiny details, etc. I really like this start, how everything is going, and I'm excited to do more. By the way, I've also been inspired by the wallpapers that used to be used in Windows or on old phones. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.
Les cuento un poco de lo que hice. Los peces que pinte fueron: Cirujano Azul, Idolo Moro y un cardumen de sardinas. Aunque este último quedó bastante abstracto pues casi no se diferencia figura alguna que en este caso son las atrevida sardinas. En todo caso, para el pez Ídolo Moro y para las sardinas, no tuve el tiempo para añadir unos detalles que deseaba en lápices de colores. Usualmente cuando pinto con los acrílicos y he acabo el trabajo, coloco algunos detalles en lápices de colores para resaltar los mismos y hacer algunos detalles que no consigo con los acrílicos: como texturas, detalles minúsculos, etc. La verdad me gusta este comienzo, como todo va yendo y esto entusiasmada por hacer más. Por cierto, también me he inspirado por aquello de los fondos de pantalla que antes se usaban en el Windows o en teléfonos antiguos. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.

What a beautiful project you have started! I love the results and I will tell you that the challenge of working with few colours is interesting because it awakens the creativity of how to combine them better. I haven't painted much in acrylics although I have painted in oils but when I have I also liked to highlight some parts or make details with coloured pencils, especially black. That looks very nice and makes your paintings have a great style.
For a painting or a design to be great you have to take it easy and let the art flow, no pressure, because that's where the blockages appear. I loved your work. Thank you very much! Hugs!🤗

Saludos por aquí, que gusto verte de nuevo 🤗 sí, totalmente. Limitar la paleta de colores resulta una práctica interesante y además despierta (cómo bien dices) resoluciones diferentes. Y con respecto a lo último, en cuanto empiezo a notar que ya no estoy disfrutando el proceso, hago una pausa y si me siento mejor, vuelvo al trabajo. Muchas gracias por tu comentario.
