Échame el Cuento: Todos los cumpleaños, todos los momentos [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Mundo Hispano community! Today, after a while away from here, I'm joining "Tell Me the Story" again to participate in this opportunity to choose a photograph of our mother that highlights a memorable moment between mother and daughter. So if you're interested in joining, I'll be leaving the link at the end of the post. That said, let's get started.
The photograph is from 2023, during my 26th birthday. At that time, I was still living in Valencia and was able to frequently go to my mom's house to celebrate all the family holidays and other events. I really liked that because I've always liked being close to them, trying to share as much as possible. We're only a few people, so being able to be with them is even more valuable to me. As for why I'm highlighting this photograph in relation to my mother, it's because over the years, she's always been very attentive to my birthdays. No matter where I've been, she always tries in some way to let me know she remembers and cares. That's truly precious to me.

Hoy luego de un tiempo ausente por aquí, me uno nuevamente a "Échame el Cuento", para participar en la dinámica de esta oportunidad que consiste en elegir una fotografía de nuestra madre dónde destaque un momento memorable entre madre e hija. La fotografía pertenece al año 2023, durante mi cumpleaños número 26. Para ese momento yo todavía vivía en Valencia y podía ir de forma frecuente a casa de mi mamá para celebrar todas las fiestas de la familia y demás. Eso me gustaba mucho porque siempre me ha gustado permanecer unida a ellos, tratar de compartir todo lo que se pueda. Somos pocos, por lo que es aún más valioso para mí poder estar con ellos. Con respecto a el porque destaco esta fotografía en relación a mi madre, es porque durante todos los años ella siempre ha estado muy al pendiente de mis cumpleaños. No importa en dónde he estado, ella siempre trata de alguna forma hacerme saber que lo recuerda y que le importa. Eso es realmente valioso para mí.
We don't always get along, but even when we did, my mother tried to give her all on my birthday. I fondly remember the food she prepared for me that day: white rice, roast beef, tomato and onion salad, and French fries (my favorite). From her, I also learned (when I was little) how to make some desserts: tres leches, black forest cake, and quesillo. Precisely because she was the one in charge of making cakes for everyone in the family. And 2023 was no exception, because in addition to a giant lunch, my mother gave me a beautiful and delicious chocolate cake. I remember that day I was a little sick, and although I had little appetite, I tried to eat as much as I could. It saddens me to think that that food, the things she makes for me with her own hands, I might not have the joy of having in the future. I want to enjoy her company and give back to her for all she's given me. That's why love is in the little things and everywhere. Thank you, Mom, for everything. Nosotras no siempre nos llevamos bien, pero aún y cuando eso era así, mi madre intentaba darlo todo ese día de mi cumpleaños. Yo recuerdo con mucho amor la comida que ella me preparaba para mí en ese día: arroz blanco, carne asada, ensalada de tomate y cebolla y papitas fritas (mi comida favorita). De ella también aprendí (cuando era pequeña) a hacer algunos postres: tres leches, selva negra y quesillo. Precisamente porque era ella quién se encargaba de hacer las tortas de todos en la familia. Y ese 2023 no fue la excepción porque mi madre me regaló además de un almuerzo gigante, una bella y rica torta de chocolate. Recuerdo que ese día estaba un poco enferma y aunque tenía poco apetito, intenté comer cuánto pude. Me da pesar pensar en que esa comida, las cosas que hace por mi con sus propias manos, quizás ya yo no tenga la dicha de tenerlos en un futuro. Quiero disfrutar de la compañía de ella y retribuirle cuánto ella me ha dado a mi. Por eso, el amor está en las pequeñas cosas y en todos lados. Gracias mami por todo. Las madres siempre saben que nos gusta y aunque a veces por un tiempo no nos llevemos bien, siempre saben que hacer en el momento en que lo necesitamos. Un aderezo linda, me encantó leerte! 🎉❤️

Las madres nunca dejamos de complacer a los hijos. Que hermosa fotografia y que lindo recuerdo de tu madre. Lo que dices al final es muy importante, hay que disfrutar cada momento que podemos estar con nuestra madre.
