Dance, dance, and dance: drawing the human body [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community! Today I'm joining you to share a moment that happened a few weeks ago in the classroom. I mentioned it a few weeks ago here on the platform, but I didn't get around to talking about the second group who had the experience of drawing a live model. So here's a little bit about it.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un momento que se dió hace unas semanas en el aula de clases. Del mismo hablé hace unas semanas por aquí en la plataforma, me faltó hablar sobre el segundo grupo que vivió la experiencia de dibujar a un modelo en vivo. Así que aquí les hablo un poquito al respecto.
For the first group, the experience of drawing ballet dancers in different dance poses was exciting and quite interesting. Many of them were committed to the task of drawing each pose, using as a reference what they had previously learned regarding working times, materials, and the instructions to take only what was necessary and not skimp on time or effort in dedicating many details. With the second group, the situation was quite different, as there was much more silence. It seemed that the students' demeanor changed as soon as they entered the classroom and they began to work quickly on their sheets. Which, by the way, weren't white sheets, but Kraft paper. The tone of those leaves is wonderful for quick sketches done with graphite and white pencils.
Para el primer grupo, la experiencia de dibujar bailarinas de ballet en distintas poses de baile, fue emocionante y bastante curioso. Muchos de ellos se mostraron comprometidos con la labor de dibujar cada pose, tomando como referencia lo aprendió anteriormente en referencia a los tiempos de trabajo, los materiales, las indicaciones de tomar solo lo necesario y no escatimar tiempo o esfuerzo en dedicar muchos detalles. Con el segundo la situación fue particularmente diferente, pues hubo mucho más silencio. Parecía que los chicos habían cambiado el semblante en cuanto entraron al salón de clase y comenzaron a trabajar rápidamente en sus hojas. Que por cierto, no eran hojas blancas, sino papel Kraft. El tono de esas hojas es maravilloso para los dibujos rápidos que se hacen con lápices de grafito y lápiz blanco.
Many of the children said that their best drawings were done during the 10-minute session. Although their previous work, done in less time, was commendable. One of the dancers who served as a model was beautifully portrayed by one of my students. When the work was shown, she was very flattered. None of the children in this group stepped forward to be models; I think it was clearly a moment of teenage rebellion (hahaha), as the younger children weren't afraid to come to the front to pose for their classmates. I like that, because I think they are a bit more willing to accept challenges and not afraid of playing. We spent the other part of the class working on the exhibition, which I will show later. Muchos de los chicos aseguraron que el tiempo en que mejor dibujaron fue donde tuvieron la libertad de los 10 minutos. Aunque sus trabajo previos que se realizaron con menos tiempo, fueron loables. Una de las bailarinas que sirvió como modelo, fue retratada muy bien por una de mis estudiantes. Al mostrar el trabajo, ella se sintió muy halagada con ello. Para este grupo ninguno paso adelante para ser modelos, creo que es algo que claramente fue su momento de rebeldía adolescente (jajaja), pues los niños más pequeños no temieron en pasar al frente para posar para sus compañeros. Me gusta eso último, pues creo que ellos son un poco más dispuestos a aceptar los retos y no temer al juego. La otra parte de la clase la vivimos trabajando en la exposición, la mostraré luego.
