Celebrating CIMOS's 46th anniversary [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Daily Blog community! Today I'm joining you to share another day in the classroom. This week was special because this past Friday we celebrated CIMOS school's 46th anniversary. As expected, the place was filled with joy, as both teachers and students were ready and excited to celebrate.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Daily Blog! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en el aula de clases y es que esta semana fue especial, pues este día viernes se cantó el cumpleaños al colegio CIMOS por sus 46 años de servicio. Cómo no podía ser de otra manera, el lugar se encontraba repleto de alegría pues tanto profesores cómo estudiantes estaban listos y emocionados para celebrar el aniversario.
I'm new here, but I soon discovered that the tradition involves getting a cake for each classroom so that all the students in that classroom can sing "Happy Birthday." For a moment, I felt a similar sensation to that of New Year's Eve in December (when the countdown begins before midnight), as the atmosphere was similar and the music felt the same. It was wonderful to see all of that, and then to see the graduating class shouting with excitement. I saw some of my students, but not all of them. We, the teachers and extracurricular staff, were celebrating on our own.
Yo soy nueva aquí, pero pronto descubrí que la tradición consiste en conseguir una torta por salón para que todos los estudiantes de dicho salón, canten el cumpleaños. Sentí por un momento una sensación a la que se vive cuando se acerca el año nuevo en diciembre (cuando se hace el conteo antes de que sean las doce), pues había un ambiente similar y la música que acompañaba ese momento se sintió igual. Total que fue bonito ver todo eso y luego a los niños de la promoción que egresará este año escolar, gritar emocionados. Pude ver a algunos de mis estudiantes, pero no a todos. Nosotros, los profesores y personal de clases extracurriculares, estuvimos celebrando por nuestra cuenta.
This week was busy. I tried to get all the students ready with the drawings or paintings they would be presenting for this event, as well as the theme for the week. I was proud to see the parents come to the exhibition to view their children's work. I was so happy to see that because it means a lot to the children (and of course, to me as their teacher), as they feel recognized for what they do. Everything they do in the classroom is gaining value, and that's very important. It was a busy and rewarding week on many levels. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Esta semana estuvimos ocupados. Por mi parte, intenté tener a todos los estudiantes listos con el dibujo o pintura que presentarían para este evento. Así cómo también, el tema de la semana. Ví con orgullo cómo los representantes se acercaron al lugar de la exposición para ver los trabajos de sus niños. Me alegró mucho ver eso pues significa bastante para los niños (y por supuesto, para mí como su profesora), pues se sienten reconocidos en lo que hacen. Va tomando valor todo aquello que hacen en el salón y eso es bastante importante. Fue una semana ocupada y gratificante en muchos niveles. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
