A decade with Brandy: Happy birthday to Brandy [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Hive Pets community! Today I'm joining you to share a new canine adventure. This time it's about my beloved Brandy, my oldest dog, who turned 10 years old on December 4th. I hadn't been able to sleep to write about it because I'd been dealing with Pepito's situation, but it's an important date for us (my partner and I) because we've lived together for a long time (about eight years), so he's practically Brandy's father/guardian. We've lived in many places (different states in Venezuela), we've been through difficult health times (when Brandy had mammary tumors, for example), as well as happy ones (when she had her puppies, when she recovered from surgeries, etc.), and well, it's impossible not to be moved.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Hive Pets! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nueva aventura perruna. Pues en esta ocasión se trata de mi querida Brandy, mi perrita mayor, quién este 4 de diciembre estuvo cumpliendo 10 años de edad. No había podido dormir escribir al respecto porque había estado con lo de Pepito, sin embargo, es una fecha importante para nosotros (mi pareja y yo) porque hemos vivido mucho tiempo juntos (unos ocho años juntos tenemos nosotros) así que él es prácticamente cómo el padre/tutor inmediato de Brandy. Hemos vivido en muchos lugares (estados diferentes de Venezuela), hemos pasado por momentos de salud difíciles (cuando Brandy tuvo tumores mamarios, por ejemplo), así cómo felices (cuando tuvo sus cachorros, cuando sanó de las operaciones, etc.) y bueno, imposible no conmoverse.
We couldn't celebrate properly that day because we've had a few tough months financially, so we couldn't buy the chicken we wanted for her. She loves chicken and carrots. But that day we did play a lot, well, more than usual, and she did eat her carrots. So, a few days later, we finally found some stability, and I was able to treat my Brandy to some boiled chicken. Aside from that, I'm increasingly worried about the fact that Brandy is getting to a somewhat delicate age. It makes me sad because she was used to jumping and running around a lot during her youth, and even now she tries to do it without thinking about how difficult it is or anything like that, but I do notice that she gets tired more quickly, she struggles to do those acrobatics she used to do, and so on. Sometimes I'm scared because she hurts herself in those kinds of situations. For example, she'll be sleeping and suddenly run out because of some noise outside, knocking over whatever's in front of her.
Ese día no pudimos celebrar debidamente, porque hemos pasado unos meses un poco difíciles a nivel económico, por lo que no pudimos comprar el pollo que queríamos para ella. A ella le encanta el pollo y la zanahoria. Pero ese día si jugamos mucho, bueno, más que siempre y sí comió sus zanahorias. Así que a los días que finalmente pudimos tomar algo de estabilidad y pude complacer a mi Brandy con un pollito hervido. Fuera de eso, cada vez me preocupa el hecho de que Brandy está avanzando hacia una edad un poco delicada. Me da pena porque ella estuvo acostumbrada durante toda su juventud a saltar mucho y correr, y ahorita mismo ella lo intenta sin pensar en que se le dificulta o algo por el estilo, pero yo si noto que se cansa más rápido, le cuesta hacer bien esas acrobacias de antes y demás. A veces me da miedo porque ella se lastima en ese tipo de situaciones. Por ejemplo, está durmiendo y sale corriendo porque suena algún ruido exterior y se lleva por delante lo que tenga en frente.
I think I have to do what babies do and start adapting the house for Brandy. Although, in general, my house doesn't have much furniture and there aren't that many obstacles, I should put the beds on the floor. Right now, I'm so happy to see how much time has passed and how much we've accomplished together. Brandy is like Rambo, she's like my cat Kittie, very hard to beat, and I'm glad she is because she's so strong. Here's to many more years with us. Creo que tengo que hacer como los bebes y comenzar a adaptar la casa a Brandy. Aunque en general, mi casa no tiene mucho muebles y no hay tantos obstáculos, pero si bajar las camas al suelo. Ahorita mismo, me alegra ver el tiempo que ha pasado y como hemos logrado tantas cosas juntas. Brandy es Rambo, es cómo mi gata Kittie, muy difícil de vencer y me alegra que sea así pues ella es muy fuerte. Por más años con nosotros. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
