The compliment that lives rent free in my head.

Sometime ago. In partial fulfillment of my course requirements. We picked up a seminar topic. A research that took months to be achieved.
Although the beginning was rough but the middle was something else.
I mean having to meet a protocol person, a supervisor who just wants everything you write to be in her words.

The moment I realised she was my seminar supervisor, I didn't know whether to cry or not. But my colleagues were happy for me, saying my work will be perfect.
I never found it funny, meaning she's someone I admire from a distance but the part where you rarely see her in the office is something else.

I summon courage to meet her and showed her my work.
she took her time to correct it. And I was like, I wish this moment will last. When I met her the second time, it was a different case, she acted like she has never met me before. And most times before I could meet her, I have to pray and even anoint myself.

So it continued like that, until she stopped coming to the office for months.
And it was approaching

ng the time of defence. I didn't know what to do. My work hasn't been approved. Where do I start from?
Just few days to the defence day, we were asked to submit our work whether approved or not . I was excited, at the same time scared.

When it was the day of the defence, something happened that leaves me with a story to tell. When I stepped out to talk, the whole supervisors that came complimented my dress, I was shocked and that moment alone gave me the assurance that I won. Just because of that, they didn't let me talk much. They told me to take a bowl and go.
That single moment has lived rent free in my head.
