Window Boats

Since I moved to a new flat, preserving a great view over the Kvarner bay, just from another perspective, I also have almost exclusive sight over the container terminal in Rijeka, Croatia. It gives me an exclusive opportunity to create great shot of many boats coming & going, day & night. Almost any time I look through my window some ship is docked & being filled or emptied...

This is the biggest ship I witnessed till now. This one stayed docked for few days cause it can receive huge load. On this photo it was still warm, not a lot of wind, bright Sun shine...

The were filling it day & night without stopping. I could here the cranes moving & containers making noise when bouncing. Here still it wasn't full.

On the last day, when it was almost totally full, they lighted more lights, which made better conditions to make better shot.

Next day the weather changed to cloudy, windy, colder & sometimes raining a bit. The ships changed too.

Few days later, after several rainy days, the weather became much colder & the traditional cold mountain wind, about which I was writing so many times here - "bura" - started its reign. Different ship docked.

In this time I realized that I can sunbathe on the balcony under the huge glass windows which act like glasshouse intensifying the heat of the Sun. So, in the last 3 days, from 11 to 14:30 h I'm sunbathing fully naked, enjoying the winter Sunshine.

In the next few shots I shot some cityscape panoramas so that the viewer can see the bigger picture, how the whole city center looks.

The building where I'm living now is situated just over the railway but the train doesn't pass so often so I don't mind it at all. Purposely I captured the balcony with clothes drying - to make it more relaxed & a bit funny.

That same day I decided to go for a fast walk with my camera towards the center & make some more shots during the golden hour of the Sunset & I did! & I am very satisfied with the results. In the very near future I will publish them hear on my blog too. If you're interested, stay tuned...
