Metacumulus

The cumulus clouds give me so much inspiration. They form such incredible shapes and often remind me of Salvador Dali's painting. I remember that in some of his paintings he used to paint exactly these fantastic clouds on the distant horizon.

From a giant mother cluster...

...a young giant is being born.

On the East of the horizon, from my point of view, above the mountain, huge high aerial accumulation of clouds was uprising. It is so far away for my eye sight that I can't figure out is it rising or spreading or both a bit. I can't be sure how close or far it is either.

Somewhere in the middle of the horizon, above the huge ship turned so small in comparison with the giant clouds, above the islands & the sea, above the mountains, the cumulus were popping up, gathering the steam of tiny water drops, condensed. I see a big mother-father figure creature giving a lecture to the much smaller child creature. So nice!

And than there are these messy one for which I can't find any words, just look & admire...

I am still trying out the tele lens so I'm wondering how much sharper the images would be if I would have decreased the aperture value. Next time I will definitely try that out & than compare the results.

All the upper shots I made with Nikon D800 & Tamron SP 70-300 mm F/4-5.6 Di. For the self-portrait below I used the same camera with Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70 mm lens.
