Desert Canyon

Last 3 and half weeks I spent in Dahab, Egypt. Exactly now I'm waiting for another flight at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen airport. I have too much time in between 2 flights - 9 hours, so I decided to work on the photos that I have taken while staying in Dahab. I had such a pleasant and comfortable stay in Dahab. It felt like home. It was out of main tourist season, so it was so nice and peaceful and I rested so well that I'm full of new will for returning home to the awaiting family and work. The spring is coming in Croatia and so the nature is awakening. I'll be picking a lot of wild plants and mushrooms, planting gardens and cropping fruit trees, like I'm always doing in the spring time.

The photo that I'm posting here, shows the very strange poor environment of a completely dry canyon what long time ago was a river, surrounded by the rocky hills and mountains. The canyon is now turned into a road that leads to the oasis. Many of these rocks are so soft and they break easily. Sometimes they turn into sand just under the pressure of a fist. Seems like this landscape is so old that even the rocks ain't firm anymore. I'm still fascinated by it roughness and merciless, by the texture and the play between the light and the shadows. I will also be posting black and white versions the desert landscapes that I caught there, on the edge of the desert near the sea...

Another fascinating fact is that life still survives here! There are bushes and shrubs and even small trees and many flies and I believe there are bigger animals too, only I haven't encountered them.
