El pasado domingo 09 de noviembre de 2025 tuve el placer de disfrutar de un Clásico en la pelota venezolana, como lo es un juego de béisbol entre los eternos rivales Leones del Caracas y Navegantes del Magallanes, en el Estadio Monumental Simón Bolívar en La Rinconada, Caracas - Venezuela.

Los pongo en contexto el Estadio Monumental Simón Bolívar se encuentra ubicado en el sector La Rinconada, de la parroquia Coche de la ciudad de Caracas, en Venezuela, a un lado del Poliedro de Caracas y del Hipódromo La Rinconada. El mismo nace de la necesidad de albergar más fanáticos al Estadio Universitario; ya que por su condición de formar parte de las instalaciones del Campus Universitario no puede ser ampliado, porque es Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad.

Fue inaugurado en febrero de 2023, en la celebración de la Serie del Caribe batiendo récord de asistencia por la cantidad de espectadores que puede albergar; 38.000 sentados, 2.000 parados y ha alcanzado un máximo de 50.000 cuando se trata de conciertos; ya que usan la parte del campo para montar la tarima y la sección VIP.

El 26 de julio de 2023 se anuncia la mudanza de que la nueva sede de los Leones del Caracas es el Monumental Simón Bolívar, ya no será en Estadio Universitario de Caracas como lo fue durante toda nuestra historia peloteril en los últimos 71 años, desde 1952. Ahora bien, esta era mi primera vez en el estadio, no lo conocía; solo por fotos y comentarios de familiares y amigos, y debo decir con toda la sinceridad del caso; que su nombre está bien puesto.

Es un monumento, una estructura muy bien planificada y bonita, propia de grandes ciudades. Posee una cantidad de comercios, tiendas, restaurantes, discoteca, ascensores, mucha iluminación, pantalla Led y por último, pero no menos importantes los baños limpios, con agua, espejos, buen alumbrado, amplios y una buena cantidad de sanitarios que permite que las filas caminen rápido, y el flujo de personas sea más ligero. Además de un personal bastante calificado y amable que te facilita la entrada y movilización dentro de las instalaciones del mismo; ojalá se mantenga, porque "toda escoba nueva barre bien".

Tenía muchísimos años que no disfrutaba de un juego entre Caracas y Magallanes, la adrenalina y la emoción que se siente en un encuentro de esa magnitud, es indescriptible, fue una jornada maravillosa, una carga de emociones como siempre sucede en los juegos entre los eternos rivales.

Como comentaba en mi post anterior, tenemos que disfrutar cada momento, aprovechar las oportunidades que se nos presentan; por la misma situación económica, política y social mucha gente huyó del país. Felizmente otros regresaron como es el caso de mi hermano, quien fue que nos regaló las entradas, porque es pelotero y trabaja en béisbol.

Por la alegría e idiosincrancia del venezolano, cualidad que nos caracteriza para este tipo de eventos; desde tempranas horas la avalancha de gente hizo acto de presencia en el Monumental. Ríos y ríos de gente de ambos equipos hicieron presencia para disfrutar del juego; quienes tuvieron un comportamiento adecuado. No como en otras épocas se veían a personas insultándose y cayéndose a golpes; cosa que me pareció excelente. Todo el mundo feliz, compartiendo y disfrutando del evento a pesar de que el equipo de la casa perdió.

Por mi parte agradecida con Dios y el universo, ese día la pasé excelente, recordé mis años mozos, a mi papá con quien veía el juego y aprendí de las reglas del béisbol y del fanastimo Magallanero. Salí súper contenta porque ganarle a los Leones del Caracas en su casa; eso no tiene precio y mucho más cuando estamos en el último lugar en la tabla de posiciones. Pero eso es el béisbol, se gana y también se pierde.

Agradezco a Dios, a mi papá, a mis hermanos, y a toda mi familia por ser peloteros, por enseñarme de béisbol, por enseñarme a disfrutar del béisbol, y lo mejor a enseñarme a aprovechar y disfrutar cada minuto como si fuese el último. Para finalizar, quisiera comentar que ví en las redes sociales; que este juego fue usado para hacernos bullying, síiii 🙄 a todos los venezolanos que acudimos al estadio, porque según los que están afuera tenemos que quedarnos en casa sufriendo por la situación actual de nuestro país... 🤦‍♀️ ¿Qué tal?... 🙏 Feliz y bendecido presente🙏

Last Sunday, November 9, 2025, I had the pleasure of enjoying a Venezuelan baseball classic, a game between eternal rivals Leones del Caracas and Navegantes del Magallanes, at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium in La Rinconada, Caracas, Venezuela.

To put it in context, the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium is located in the La Rinconada sector of the Coche parish in the city of Caracas, Venezuela, next to the Poliedro de Caracas and the La Rinconada Racetrack. It was built to accommodate more fans than the University Stadium could hold, since the latter cannot be expanded due to its status as part of the University Campus facilities and its designation as a World Heritage Site.

It was inaugurated in February 2023, during the Caribbean Series, breaking attendance records due to the number of spectators it can accommodate: 38,000 seated, 2,000 standing, and a maximum of 50,000 for concerts, as the field is used to set up the stage and VIP section.

On July 26, 2023, it was announced that the new home of the Caracas Lions would be the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium, no longer the Caracas University Stadium, as it had been throughout our baseball history for the past 71 years, since 1952. Now, this was my first time at the stadium. I didn't know it, only from photos and comments from family and friends, and I must say with all sincerity that its name is well deserved.

It is a monument, a beautifully designed structure, typical of large cities. It has a number of shops, stores, restaurants, a nightclub, elevators, plenty of lighting, LED screens, and last but not least, clean bathrooms with running water, mirrors, good lighting, ample space, and a sufficient number of toilets to keep lines moving quickly and the flow of people light. In addition, the staff is quite qualified and friendly, facilitating entry and movement within the facilities. Hopefully, this will continue, because “every new broom sweeps well.”

It had been many years since I had enjoyed a game between Caracas and Magallanes. The adrenaline and excitement you feel at a match of this magnitude is indescribable. It was a wonderful day, full of emotions, as always happens in games between eternal rivals.

As I mentioned in my previous post, we have to enjoy every moment and take advantage of the opportunities that come our way. Due to the economic, political, and social situation, many people fled the country. Fortunately, others returned, as in the case of my brother, who gave us the tickets because he is a baseball player and works in baseball..

Due to the joy and idiosyncrasy of Venezuelans, a quality that characterizes us for this type of event, from early in the morning, crowds of people made their presence felt at the Monumental Stadium. Rivers and rivers of people from both teams showed up to enjoy the game, and everyone behaved appropriately. Unlike in the past, there were no people insulting each other or fighting, which I thought was excellent. Everyone was happy, sharing and enjoying the event even though the home team lost.

For my part, grateful to God and the universe, I had a wonderful day. I remembered my younger years, my dad, with whom I used to watch the game and learn the rules of baseball and the Magallanero fanaticism. I left feeling very happy because beating the Caracas Lions at their home stadium is priceless, especially when we are in last place in the standings. But that's baseball; you win some and you lose some.

I thank God, my dad, my brothers, and my whole family for being baseball players, for teaching me about baseball, for teaching me to enjoy baseball, and best of all, for teaching me to make the most of and enjoy every minute as if it were my last. Finally, I would like to comment that I saw on social media that this game was used to bully us, yes 🙄 all Venezuelans who went to the stadium, because according to those on the outside, we have to stay home and suffer because of the current situation in our country... 🤦‍♀️ How about that?... 🙏 Happy and blessed present🙏
