Weekend-Engagement: The Best Ever

One of my happiest periods of the week is the weekend, hehe. Who doesn't like weekends? Then probably that person doesn't like rest, a little time away from work and usually routine. For me, this weekend, I'm free from exams till Monday.
I feel so glad to have finally made this post.

This post would have been made earlier than this but since I decided to go for the last topic on the list:

What are you doing this weekend and why.

I saw the need to chill till today knowing fully well I have exhausted every activity of the weekend so I would share it all with everyone here. It's been an amazing weekend Indeed. Let's get down to telling you how my weekend went.

I'm a lover of children. I love seeing them live happily with smiles on their faces all the time. So this weekend I just took a little walk out of home to the streets and visited some children in my neighborhood and some I know from church. The first I visited was Daniel. Daniel is one of the funniest and most energetic boys in the children 's church. When I got to their home, guess what he was doing, skating. It's the weekend, so they played to their satisfaction.

But do you know what amazed me the most? Daniel’s brother made the skating board.

The young boy fabricated the skateboard himself and he told me he got the board from the timber market and the rolling tire, he said he got it from spoiled Luggage, what a creative child! Though the skateboard doesn't look new, exotic and original, it still serves its use, skating. I engaged in the play with them for a while before I left to visit the other child.

The next child I visited was Emmanuella. This is one of the calmest and cute baby girls in my neighborhood. Though she cries so loud when her mom leaves her, with her mom's presence, no noise or disturbance at all. I decided to visit a boy and a girl, so I'm not biased, lol.

Guess what she was doing when I got to her home, playing football. Though she played the football with her hands, so we can probably call that “handbal”, hehe.

Then I concluded that the weekend is the time when we should stay out of our usual routine, relieve stress and have good times in our lives. I also engaged in the play with her, we were just throwing the ball to each other. That's my biggest #weekend-engagement ever, an engagement that made a young soul smile. That's all I've wanted, to bring smiles to those little ones’ faces and have them feel they have people by their side.

That all happened on a Saturday. Then after our Sunday service, our neighbor invited us to the birthday party in celebration and honor of their first son who just turned 1 yesterday. It was a great celebration indeed. I ate!!!!!!!!!!!

That was my second reason for going there, to eat and drink. I'm sure you may want to know the first reason but never mind. The celebration was a great one as we all gathered to share in their joy and happiness.

I didn't go alone, I went with my little nephew who didn't let me enjoy my food and drinks to the fullest, lol. The place was very lively as children were dancing to the afrobeat songs and what thrilled me most was the baby's cake.
Wow!!!!!! If I were to rate this cake out of ten, I would give it eleven, seriously.

Let me talk about the cake separately. The cake was made by the celebrant's mother, who is good at making bakeries and pastries. So she made a perfect cake for her son. She made three cakes bearing the letters, ” ONE”, meaning that her son would always be the best, the number one. Then she went ahead to describe the colors saying that they were red, yellow and blue, the primary colors. She said so many enticing things, but guess what, my mind was not completely there, I was already thinking of how the cake would be shared, the size of my portion and how much I would spend to buy a cake for myself because I love cakes so much, lol.
But in all, it's been the best weekend ever.
