The Power of the "Duo" in Settling many Home Activities // El poder del "dúo" para organizar muchas actividades del hogar

Staying home alone is never easy especially if it's one's first time. Actually, I have been home alone since last weekend. My parents had traveled to my hometown for parties(marriages and other joyous celebrations) which often occur in the months of April and May.
In my hometown, the month of April and May are set aside for most joyous events (like marriages, house dedications and lots more) and then the months of October and September for other events like burial because it's not good to celebrate and mourn in same months(April and May), so both events had to be gapped.

So now my parents aren't around, I found it wise to call one of my tight friends to come stay with me for a while. He stayed with me for three days before leaving. I couldn't go to my hometown with my parents because I was still writing exams.

Within the three days my friend stayed with me, we had a lot of memories like cooking weird food, either the food is too salty or it's overcooked, lol. But the most important part of his stay was the: Duo Laundry.
Before my friend left, we decided to wash most of our home and personal items.

So as the sun greeted us with its warming temperature, my friend and I knew it was the perfect time to do some laundry outside. My friend actually brought his detergent pack but after he realized I had scooped up enough homemade liquid soap for the both of us, he was happy trying out the liquid soap for the first time.

So on getting downstairs, we separated our clothes and shoes. He got two buckets and I got two as well, one for washing and the other for rinsing.

The only thing my friend forgot to come along with when he left his house to my place was his clothes hangers. So in this case, I had to share some of my hangers with him.
So after washing and hanging our clothes on the line, we hoped that the heat from the sun would do the rest of the job, lol.
But I also washed my shoes( Crocs) too and dried them as well.

On getting back upstairs, it was time to “find something to put in the stomach”, time to cook food. For me, I'm a bad chef, lol. So what did we do? My friend and I decided to practiceDivision of Labor. Since my friend could cool, he took over the kitchen while I went ahead to clean up dusty surfaces at home.

I started with the table. This is the table where we were to sit and eat after my friend finished cooking, so I had to clean it in preparation for the upcoming delicious meal.
I cleaned every part of the table including the gold design below it and made it glitter.

Next item I cleaned up was the fridge followed by the TV decoder. For all the cleaning, I had to soak the rags in water to aid my cleaning.
For the table and the fridge, I used a separate rag and for the more dusty decoder, I had to use a separate rag for it.

Then at the end of the cleaning, I still went ahead to assist my friend in the cooking because my section of the “labor” looks easier and quicker.

At the end, we came up with a deliciously spiced noodle with some scrambled eggs on it. We served it on a large dish and we both ate from it together. It was indeed a happy day at home with my friend. I wish home could forever be like this where I would be with people who set home care as priority as well as understand how to cooperate to get things done and make home sweeter.

Quedarse solo en casa nunca es fácil, sobre todo si es la primera vez. De hecho, he estado solo en casa desde el fin de semana pasado. Así que, cuando el sol nos dio la bienvenida con su temperatura cálida, mi amigo y yo supimos que era el momento perfecto para lavar la ropa al aire libre. Mi amigo trajo su paquete de detergente, pero al darse cuenta de que había cogido suficiente jabón líquido casero para los dos, se alegró de probarlo por primera vez.

Así que al bajar, separamos la ropa y los zapatos. Él trajo dos cubos y yo dos también, uno para lavar y otro para enjuagar.

Lo único que mi amigo olvidó traer cuando se fue de su casa a la mía fueron sus perchas. Así que, en este caso, tuve que compartir algunas con él. Así que, después de lavar y tender la ropa, esperábamos que el calor del sol hiciera el resto, jaja. Pero también lavé y sequé mis zapatos (Crocs).

Al volver arriba, era hora de "buscar algo para comer", hora de cocinar. Soy un mal cocinero, jaja. ¿Y qué hicimos? Mi amigo y yo decidimos practicar la División del Trabajo. Como mi amigo sabía enfriar, se encargó de la cocina mientras yo limpiaba las superficies polvorientas de casa.

Empecé con la mesa. Esta era la mesa donde íbamos a sentarnos a comer después de que mi amiga terminara de cocinar, así que tuve que limpiarla para preparar la deliciosa comida que se avecinaba. Limpié cada parte de la mesa, incluyendo el diseño dorado debajo, y lo hice brillar.

Lo siguiente que limpié fue el refrigerador y luego el decodificador de TV. Para limpiarlo, tuve que remojar los trapos en agua para facilitar la limpieza. Para la mesa y el refrigerador, usé un trapo aparte, y para el decodificador, que tenía más polvo, tuve que usar otro.

Luego, al final de la limpieza, seguí adelante para ayudar a mi amiga en la cocina porque mi parte del “trabajo” parece más fácil y rápida.

Al final, se nos ocurrió un delicios cabeza con especias y huevos revueltos. Lo servimos en un plato grande y comimos juntos. Fue un día muy feliz en casa con mi amiga. Ojalá mi hogar fuera siempre así, con gente que prioriza el cuidado del hogar y sabe cooperar para hacer las cosas bien y hacer que el hogar sea más dulce.
