Solving Fashion Burden as a Minimalist
Living a life of a half orphan isn't easy at all. I miss my Dad so much. Living a life without the breadwinner of the house calls for a minimalist lifestyle. I'm a student, living with my elder brother, a married man who personally, I wouldn't want to disturb financially. Since I turned 18, I've always tried to sort out financial issues myself.
But there's this one burden I have in terms of fashion. I have many clothes in my wardrobe though but some of them have issues with either the zipper, buttons or beltways. This kind of burdens me because the next option that comes to my head is, “make money and buy new clothes, bro!” Just like I said earlier, fighting to be financially independent has called out the minimalist in me.
In this case, buying new clothes is a burden because I don't have the money but to make life easier by minimizing the cost to maintain my wardrobe, I will have to employ my minimalist technique to align my life properly.
To cut costs and still maintain great fashion since that's my burden, I will have to take all my dresses that have faults to the tailor and have them fixed.
Believe me, half the money I'll need to buy just a new pair of clothes will surely be enough to have the old ones fixed. With the price of things in my country right now, any student who lives and fends for himself just like me and he doesn't minimize and align his life properly will one day beg for arms by the roadside.
When I said fashion, I didn't exclude the shoes I wear, lol.
Talking about shoes, I would say that I'm the best minimalist when it comes to footwears. I only have one Crocs, and three cover shoes for my corporate dresses at school. Sometimes, I would also think of getting myself a new pair of shoes and that puts more weight on me too because I have other needs prior to fashion needs like school expenses.
The need to have a new pair of shoes and the lack of financial capacity has also made me discover that visiting the cobbler wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Crocs are durable shoes I bought for myself and have served me for nearly three years now. But the cover shoes which I put on every work day and Sunday at times to church have begun developing faults beneath.
At first I thought getting a new pair would be the best idea but rather it became a burden that needed to be solved on its own.
Now, I'm happy because with the creative ideas of a minimalist lifestyle, my life can be properly aligned and pocket money will be well managed and accounted for.
For my shoes, the first idea I applied in managing them was to use a gum and hold it together but on rainy days, the gum gets loose and the shoes go bad again. Regularly spending money on gum also became a burden but I believe visiting a cobbler to fix the shoes will help me minimalise and properly align my life.
