My Favorite Christmas Song
It's another season of joy, a season I've so long waited for. The Christmas season is always spectacular in my home. I often spend my Christmas holiday with parents and siblings at home but for this season, I have decided to move to my Uncle's house by tomorrow, 23rd December.
There are so many reasons I decided to visit my Uncle and one of them is the fact that they have a PlayStation at home as well as a swimming pool by the backyard. Imagine how interesting such a home would be when you stay with people of your age and you have 100% freedom.
The Christmas season is a special season every year. It's a season that comes with amazing unique songs. One of my favorite Christmas songs is “Jingle Bell Rock”. This song was first released in America by an American artist, Bobby Helms in 1957.
The instrumentals of this song are often played repeatedly by ice cream vendors, so back then when I was a kid, whenever I heard that sound, I would rush to my parents asking them to locate the ice cream vendor and get me a cup or two, lol.
It's one of the first Christmas songs I heard when I was a kid.
This song also left with me a memory I can never forget. Just like I said, the Jingle Bell Rock song was the most common Christmas song in my primary school. I can remember the first day I heard it in school, I didn't know the lyrics.
So after that day, our teacher taught us the lyrics and advised us to learn it at home. I failed to do so and by the next class when our teacher asked everyone to chorus the song, I tried to get along with others but my teacher spotted me.
Calling me out to chorus the song was the biggest blow to me that day. Other pupils made fun of me because I couldn't sing the song.
After class when I got home, I didn't let the shame pass the day with me. I promised myself to learn the song and how to play it with my flute. With determination, I was able to learn both the singing and the playing of the instrumentals with my flute.
During my music presentation which served as my continuous assessment, I performed the instrumentals of the Jingle Bell Rock song and everyone was wowed!!
With the memories I've had with such a song, I have no other reason to tag it my favorite song, not just song but Christmas song since it's seasonal in genre. I also have other amazing songs that make every Christmas season amazing for me. Such other amazing Christmas songs are Merry Christmas Baby, White Christmas, Blue Christmas and lots more.

The fact that the ice cream vendors do use it for their jingles is very true and do crack me off sometimes which I think it's because it's one of the most fascinating Christmas song for children.
You've got a great Christmas song favourite and awesome write-up 👏
"Jingle Bell Rock" surely holds a special place in your heart with such a memorable school story! It’s amazing how childhood experiences with music stay with us, making the song even more meaningful over time.
