Happy week dear friends of the #homesolutions community. It's nice having to share some home activities with everyone. For today, I'll be sharing how my day was made useful and complete by engaging in intensive cleaning activities, from cleaning the ceiling fans to the windows and louvres.

Today being a public holiday gave me the chance to find something to do at home since I have no school activity today. I remembered the ceiling fans which blow to keep the house cool, then I also realized that they must have accumulated some dust and dirt in the course of their oscillation. But while cleaning the fans, I also remembered that this dust and dirt mostly come into the house via the windows/nets. So I decided to also clean the windows/nets.

I'm a tall guy though, but since I couldn't reach the fan so easily, I had to get a plastic chair to stand on. Standing in this chair gained me extra height and made my cleaning process easier.

So I got a wet rag and cleaned the fan gradually till all the dust on it was wiped off.

The picture below also shows how the clean wet rag turned to a dark dirty rag after the cleaning.

Since I wasn't assured the fan was so clean enough, I got another rag and completed the cleaning.

Then I turned on the fan to oscillate and get dry.

That was for the fan in the children's apartment, I also cleaned the fan in the sitting room. This fan is bigger but four-bladed. It's white in color and the dust stains were so visible.
I also used the same method and materials to properly clean the fan.

After cleaning, I also switched it on but since the white blades camouflaged with the white ceiling, the blades couldn't be seen clearly when it's oscillating.

Now to the windows.

For the windows, I used two buckets, one containing soapy water for washing off dust from the windows and the other containing a cleaner water for rinsing off the dirty soapy water after washing.

Below is the picture of how dirty and dusty the frames looked before I began cleaning. Then after cleaning it up first with the soapy rag, I wiped the surface off with the cleaner rag to obtain that shiny appearance.

I also cleaned the nets which were installed together with the window to prevent flies and other insects from easily penetrating the house. The nets were more dusty because whenever the window is left open for ventilation, the nets remain the only cover taking up all the dust and particles from outside. For proper cleaning, I also used the soapy rag to wash the net before rinsing with the cleaner rag.

Next up after the nets were the glass windows and the simulated divided lites

The picture below shows how dusty the glasses were before I started to clean the window.

I used the rag to clean every nook and cranny of the window.

I was able to clean off some insects that were trapped in the nets and intricate parts of the frames.

But after I had used my rag soaked in soapy water to wash the glass windows and simulated divided lites, I also rinsed off the soapy water with the cleaner rag to have a glossy glass appearance.

I did the same for all the windows at home and when I went to the last one, I called it a day.
It wasn't an easy home cleanup. Today's Friday, tomorrow is Saturday and that's the main day for house cleanup, today's cleaning is just a tip, lol.

I may not be able to share tomorrow's cleaning with everyone as I try to maintain my two to three days gap of posting in this amazing community. But the main fact remains that a clean home is a lively home.
