Hated for Helping
There few memories of high school I can never forget. I would love to share one with you all. Back then in high school,I was the most brilliant in my class. I was known for providing solutions to problems. But I wasn't really good at English and Social Studies.
My mates were always fighting for who would sit next to me during tests. Some would try to bribe me with Hamburger,my favorite. That was the only bribe I never rejected. I was talented at helping my mates pass their tests even if they don't read. I never knew I wasn't helping them. They loved me for what I normally do, but I later discovered that I was harming them in some way. I stopped helping them, even with bribes and hatred grew suddenly from nowhere.

Most of my mates hated me and called me stingy. They were always wishing that I would mess up so that they would make mockery of me. They succeeded one day when my Social Studies teacher asked, "Who's the first citizen of a nation?" No one raised their hands. Then she pointed at me and said,"Godwin, answer the question." I didn't want to appear blank so I tried and said,"The first citizen is the first person to create a nation", everyone was quiet waiting for the teacher's response.
"I'm sorry Godwin, that answer is wrong." My teacher replied. Everyone laughed, especially those that hated me. I didn't feel bad because I knew I wasn't perfect. When I got home,I asked my Mom and she told me the first citizen of any nation is the president. In my mind, I told myself that I would never forget it again.
