Well, now you have the reference, and if you wish, you can look for the story and read it. It's not one of his most famous, but Gogol's style is stamped on its plot, and its ending is very Gogolian.
I hope you read it and enjoy it.

Well, so far I've enjoyed the Russian novels that I read. So, I don't think this is going to be different from the rest. I was thinking of starting with "The Overcoat" though..
