ANOTHER PEACEFUL DAY
When my class rep had said peace was a very shady person, I should have believed her. I shouldn't have waited until I experienced it first hand.
When I first saw peace in class, she looked so innocent and nice. Immediately I had told my best friend that I wanted her in our friend group, but she only replied with a nasty look and walked away.
I laughed it off but we never spoke about peace again.
It was during the end of second semester that I had my own fair share of the slice of shady peace.
"Buying the book means you've secured 30% of your marks" Mrs. Onu announced.
The whole class erupted in loud murmurs.
I turned to my best friend "I haven't gotten the book yet" I whispered to her
She smiled reassuringly at me "you can buy it today after class. Just speak to mrs.onu quickly because this is her last class" she said
Immediately the class was over, I rushed to meet the lecturer and asked if I could buy the book today.
"Of course you can buy the book" she said "I understand that students don't have money to buy on time so I don't have a problem. The only problem I have is with the people that haven't submitted their assignment"
I let out a breath of relief as she said those words.
"Okay ma. Should I give you the money or to the course rep?" I asked
"Just give it to peace, she'll give you the book" Mrs. Onu said
Little did I know that peace was about to give me war.
I quickly went to meet peace and luckily for me, she hadn't gone home yet.
"Mrs.onu said I should give you my textbook money" I had said
"You guys are stressing me" peace rolled her eyes "I will soon start taking extra money from you guys for all these stress"
"Do you want to turn this to business" I said and we both chuckled at her joke.
I should have smelled the rat at that point.
A few minutes later, peace posted a message in the group. The price of the book had changed.
Turns out she wasn't joking about the extra money
How!
Didn't I just speak with the lecturer about the book?
Regardless, I still minded my business and payed the amount mrs.onu had asked me to pay. Since I was using transfer, I added extra bank charges to it but peace did not want peace.
Immediately I sent her the money, she told me to send my account number that she would refund me my money back.
When I asked her why the price had changed, her reply was "I have to beg mrs.onu to give you your thirty marks and also for the stress"
But I had spoken to lecturer and she said she had no problem with the people buying the book late. So where did all these issues come from.
She lived in the hostel! So what transport was she paying!
She refuse to give me my book unless I paid the amount she wanted. That was when I also got mad and decided to report her to the lecturer and used our chat as evidence.
The lecturer was livid when she found out. Right now, the disciplinary committee is handling it and although I feel bad that it got that far, I'm still happy that justice was served.

STOPMy goodness are you serious, which state is the girl from. She does not know that being a course rep comes with a prize plus she will also benefit alot from good lectures too. Sorry for the stress but I want you to be careful with her and her friend group. Always take special care if your assignment when you are submitting it to her o.

She's not the course rep and thank God she never was. The whole department has unanimously decided that she won't be given any sort of position again.

I am glad she acted this way, that she denounced it. No one should use a power given to them to help others to then act so despotically and take advantage of the needy.
