Pros And Cons Of Power Driven Individuals
Power - Why do you think some people abuse the power they have? Do you think it's possible to know if someone is going to abuse power before they do? How? Do you think that knowing that would help people choose their political leaders better, or do you think people would continue to elect people who are not suitable to handle power? Why?

Hello #qccommunity, trust your weekend went well. I welcome you to my blog.
Power is the rationale behind influencing decisions, controlling, and the ability to make people behave in a certain way. This means that the individual can make them change their attitude through coercion, force, or manipulation.
There is a saying that you show me your friend, and I will tell you the kind of person you are. Again, a popular saying remarked that an individual cannot give what they do not have.
Furthermore, an individual's personal traits and character show what the individual is or is not capable of doing. When an individual’s history shows traces of being rude, arrogant, selfish, and callous, there is a tendency for the person to tilt towards being power-drunk if they get into a political leadership role.
In my country of origin and some developing countries, it is a major concern that political candidates are always power drunk and tend to be reckless with power immediately they are elected into political offices. Some reasons could be attached to it.

First, people are not held accountable for their wrongs, and once they get away with one, the rascality continues. Again, there are no laid-down policies for checks and balances, nor any laws that guard against issues. So, the defaulters feel it is their right to misbehave and get away with it.
Furthermore, there is no serious scrutiny during and before assuming office, and no free and fair system for proper elections. The elections are manipulated, and people’s choices are rigged out of the process to make way for the non-qualified ones. And when they assume office, these begin to work with their paymaster’s plan and, in a bid to satisfy them, become tyrannical and power intoxicated.
However, most times, the issue is not with the people’s choice of candidate, but that of godfatherism and political bulldogs who won’t allow the people’s choice to thrive by thwarting the process and manipulating the system to get their bad eggs into those seats.
In conclusion, if the system is free and fair, the voice of the people will always be heard, and the right choice will be made. Those power-intoxicated candidates will never be chosen over the good ones.
